I get so infuriated reading answers to religious questions. Christians thinking that their religion is the only way to "get salvation" and things like that. People condemning Islam and Muslims as "terrorrist pigs". (Actual quotes from this website)

I am an athiest and I believe that your religion is your choice and I hate people who use religion as an excuse to get at people.

Religion, as far as I'm concerned, is the root of all this world's conflict - but at least I don't press my views on people.

then every "bad" thing is either our fault, or not actually bad, right? Like when a stingray kills someone, it isn't bad. Or if a mosquito gives a child malaria, that's not actually bad, we just don't like it. So let's stop being wimps and crying about all this stuff.

Adam and Eve where one of his creations and they were homosapiens - walking upright with no body hair - where do the dinosaurs and neanderthals come into the equation?

We have physical proof that dinosaurs existed millions of years ago yet certain religions can only account for a few 1000 years where they say the world began .

How would you explain that?

For the record this question is in no way meant with any hatred or disrespect so I expect the same in the answers - I don't need anybody telling me I'm a hater !

...because God does it, and he cannot do anything which is not good? I guess I was just turned around on the whole good/bad thing. Killing, torture etc... isn't INTRINSICALLY bad, it's just disobediant. People's feelings don't matter. When your loved ones die, and you feel bad, that's just your problem. And if someone kills your loved ones, you can't be mad at them, only mad because they disobeyed God. Right on!

I don't get how Christians can vote for Republicans, particularly since if you think about how Jesus tells us to live our lives he was obviously an anti-establishment socialist. Giving to charity, doing good for the sake of doing good, throwing out all the corruption from the temple, hanging out with a bunch of dirty guys and prostitutes...do you really think that He'd be on George Bush's side on things considering what scripture says?

Is this because god didnt want people getting pregnant before marriage? What if after you get married you are not physically or sexually happy with your partner? Another note if you wait till your married then get a divorce does this still apply to any new relationships?

When you trap animals in a zoo, many of them go mad, although a lot of progress has been over recent years to improve zoo conditions so the animals have greater freedom in a more natural habitat. Yes, some animals are better off in a zoo, but the vast majority would almost certainly prefer to be set free.

Do you not think that the Bible traps the human mind, restricting mankind’s natural thinking freedom, and also driving some people into madness? Would the majority of people be happier if they were set free from the Bible’s mental imprisonment?
