Okay, y'all, let's get our terms straight. Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice The Bible is an inanimate object, therefore it cannot have morals or virtues of it's own. Now, if we assume the Bible is the word of God (I said, IF, people, don't get crazy, now!), then the question becomes is the Bible God's way of saying "Do what I say, not what I do". Well, then, my answer is sure. God does proclaim in various parts of the Bible (the Book of Job being a great example) that He is simply better than the rest of us and therefore doesn't have to explain Himself. 'Nough said.
I think, though, that what you are really driving at is that many PEOPLE who CLAIM to believe in the Bible and Jesus' teachings act in hypocritical ways. To that I say, absolutely they do! So do Buddhists, atheists, animists, Sikhs, etc. Christians don't corner the market on that kind of bullshit, although lately it may seem so. In fact, there are many Christians who make me wonder if we're all talking about the same dude named Jesus!
Here's hoping you find your answers, friend,
J
PS
Researcher, are you serious? "You better believe in the Bible, because the Bible says so"? That's pretty circular logic, don't you think?

No, the bible is not full of hypocrisy, however, the interpretation that man has about the bible and the parables that Jesus is giving us are sometimes misinterpreted.
Also,
Look at the Jewish religion, They believe in God, but don't believe in Jesus, that he died for our sins. Yet they do not sacrifice for their sins anymore talk about hypocrites.
The Catholic religeon is another hypocrisy and is full of man made laws.
Follow the bible and your talks with God and you can't go wrong

Not really sure what you mean. Hypocrisy means to declare that one believes a certain way, and then act in a way that is inconsistent with one's stated beliefs. The Bible doesn't actually do anything, so the Bible itself cannot be a hypocrite. Only people can do that.
There are a lot of people mentioned in the Bible that Jesus refers to as hypocrites, since they do not follow their own teachings. Is that what you mean?

well that depends on what you consider the bible to be, a great work of fiction or the holy guide to all that is right? Personally I think that it's just a great collection of stories that people have been brainwashed into thinking is some holy instruction manual....With so much contadiction and hypocracy, how could anyone actually think the latter?

Of course not. A religion can never have too much hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is their most fundamental principle.

YEP!!
Here's a simple one (maybe the most significant). The Bible speaks about the nuclear family (mother, father, child) and a priest steps to the pulpit and preaches about family and that it is a right of passage in Christianity. But yet, the Catholic Priests and Nuns cannot marry and have a family because they are supposedly 'married to God' !!!!
What in the hell???? See they have all this sexual energy charged up inside so that is why the priests and nuns have secret affairs and a lot of priests molests altar boys!!!
The Bible says love thy neighbor but we have lived to see the Crusaders around the world are the ones touting the biggest guns and nuclear weaponry! Running around spreading propaganda with the A S S E S of Evil in the White House babbling about 'Axis of Evil'.
That is hypocracy in the highest form!!!

Yes, ask any number of church goers the same question, and see how many different answers you will get. What some consider to be holy, others will ignore. What some consider to be sins, others will have no concern. And they will all have their own bible verses to back up their positions, regardless of different answers for the same question.

A lot of people are hypocrites. The Bible often tends to show the people in it in enough detail that it doesn't hide their character flaws - hypocracy, prostitution, lies, murder, etc. A holy book that denies how evil people can be just wouldn't ring true.
