60 million got killed in the Second World war. Forty million got killed in the First World War. When the hordes of Atilla the Hun went on rampages, they did not do so in the name of religion. When Genghis Khan went from one part of the globe to another killing people, he was not doing so in the name of religion.

People who are opposed to religions are trying to make the religions responsible, when the facts are all this killing is deliberate and recent in the name of religion. If not, many have been living in many lands in peace without any conflict.

What I would say is this: You can invoke hate and anger and wars using any of the many tools that emotionally tie human beings to them. It could be race, it can be nationalism, even language or just greed. Religion indeed can also be used to create discord, but that was not the purpose of religions, which would really build bridges between people rather than separate them, as we all belong to the ONE LORD who made you and me.

Any religious man knows that he did not make this World, but the Lord did. So, how can a religious person become greater than his own God? I hope this makes sense to you.

Depends on which religion. I would venture to say that Jews and Christians don't cause a lot of conflicts in the world. Nor do the majority of Muslims, however that religion has spawned violent elements both in the past and at the present.

A lot of people are quick to point to the crusades as a time where Christians fought to spread their influence on the poor Muslims. These people need to get their facts strait. It was only after Christian countries were invaded that the Pope declared that the Church needed to rise up and defend itself from the invading Moors. Once they had quelled this assault, they proceeded to "make safe the holy lands" which was the first crusade. Again this was done more out of protection for Christians rather than for conquest.... it's just hard for people to believe that so they go jumping to conclusions

Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.

The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.

People should consider that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell.

I think that some part of conflicts is the separation of church and state. Some people would like to show their religion in public without getting shot.

What "many conflicts" are you referring to? The major religious war going on today is the Sunni vs Shiite strife; otherwise, all other conflicts are strictly political ones.

Yes. Mostly because it's the religion that formed 95% of human thinking today on earth. The other 5% comes from our individaul attitudes on life.

Considerably. History is full of religiously-fueled conflicts...or conflicts caused by the oppression of one religious group by another.

The real culprit is Man...not religion.
Generally, if we follow all the commands in religion, the world will be a wonderful place to live.
Man has bended and twisted religion to suit his purpose...making wars.
