People often pray to a "God" at hard times.
Is everyone having conversations with the same God?

For people that don't believe in Jesus Christ, just think for a moment, what if he is real and really is what people say he is and what he says he is.....If that is true (which it is) he was beaten unmercifully, beyond recognition, by masters of the trade of torture. When I say beyond recognition, the movie The Passion Of The Christ couldn't show how bad he was really beaten. If the first is true, everything that follows is true as well. Why don't you stop saying he isn't a god of love and that he just wants to get a show from watching us all run around. If everything I've brought to the table is true, isn't he a God Of Love?

have your god done anything physically to stop evil? has he ever grab a sword/AK47/Nuclear bomb and kill all the evil ones?
should evil be left alone until it destroys good? or should good fight evil to destroy it? or are you waiting for the return of jesus? dont you think that if jesus came to fight evil and finds that evil is abudant the job will be harder for him? do you think he'll wonder why did my people let evil grow so big?
if there's a god dont you think that god would want his followers to take some responsibility of this planet they are living on?

the big question is should people fight evil to destroy it or should people let evil destroy good?

Matt 22:39-
Jesus says in Matthew that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. But if we love ourselves first, before we love our neighbor, then this would be putting self before neighbor. Is Jesus teaching that we should be selfish?

Tell me your thoughts.

Were you raised to believe this? Did you read the Bible and decide it for yourself?
Have you questioned this belief, and wondered if it really is the word of God or do you accept it at face value?

Please do not copy and paste answers. I am interested in your thoughts, not in a copy of the Bible. I have my own copy here at home.

what would you really like the afterlife to be like? I'm not looking for scriptural quotes.

Atheists, instead of just shouting, tell me what your perfect afterlife would be. I know you don't believe in an afterlife but imagine if you could create one, what would it be like? Stuff that would make you happy and give you an eternity of being interested.

There will of course be idiots on all sides that will say something stupid, offensive etc. But let's keep it down to a minimum.

According to NASA in the next 20 years people will live in space. Reproduction will eventually occur, and with it adaptation to it's new environment. Over generations evolution will occur far quicker than it took us to reach our present form.

First thoughts that pop into my head...

Without gravity, our noses will not need to point downward, we may not need noses at all, just smell receivers.

Will we need our feet anymore? presumably in a zero-g environment pre-hensile feet like hands would be more useful

Child birth itself has been designed with gravity at its' core, what would happen there?

Gravity controls how tall we get to a degree; I could see us getting really tall and spindly too....

What physical changes could you imagine happening over the generations if we stay in space?

Others performed miracles.
According to the Bible Elijah also ascended into heaven
Adam was created without a father, OR mother

Didnt all the Prophets come with the simple message of worshipping God alone.

There are four people.

One is blind. One is colorblind (specifically, Protanomaly). One is extremely nearsighted. One has "normal" vision.

The normal vision person says there is a flower infront of them that is red and blue.

The extremely nearsighted person says that the same flower is purple.

The colorblind person, however, states that the flower is black and blue.

The blind person says there's no flower there at all.

So, tell me...

... who is the one that sees correctly?

Perhaps God created the world and humans and the rest of creation, and perhaps he did it in such a way that his followers would develop electricity, education, history and science, thus dicovering and celebrating the universe he created. We're hiding from it, but it's there, waiting become obvious.
Peace and love to all.

Theists of all denominations fastidiously study their sacred texts, how many evolutionists have actually waded through Darwins' Origin of Species with the same vigour?

Christians keep going on about loving each other and quoting tripe from the bible. In that same Bible it is said that you should not judge others.
Yet Christians are the most judgemental people on this planet.
They are forever telling us that by doing such and such we are sinning. If we do not comply with their beliefs then they turn their little christian noses up at us in disgust!
Is this not judging?

And I beg you, PLEASE!... do not even try to tell me it is the teachings of the Bible because that book just contradicts itself the whole way through!

Sensible agreeing answers are a plus here.

Has anyone ever been in an abusive marriage, or had abusive parents from your childhood, that your minister has encouraged you to CONTINUE trying to develop a close relationship with?

However, you prayed on the matter, and chose to distance yourself from these loved one's because their presence was toxic in your life?

After doing so, did you find that you made the right decision? Did your life improve? How did your minister react to your unwillingness to heed their advice?

I believe in forgiveness, but I do not feel it is always safe, healthy, or needed to continue working on relationships with abusive people who are not willing to communicate, and have been abusive towards you for years. What are all of your thoughts?

share what fun you do that is no differant than non-christians. share what they even think christians do that they may not realize christians do for fun.

(example: i know christian skateboard groups who do stunts no differant than none christians)

if you dont call yourself christian, but know or do things you feel is considered christian based or just possitive activities to share with christians share that as well.

Christianity makes so much sense to me except the part about those who do not believe in Jesus are going to hell. I can not imagine Ghandi going to hell. These kind of statements seem so out of character of an all loving God/Jesus, who showed so much compassion for sinners. How do you reconcile that?

Peace be with you.

Many times in this forum faith in other religions cite some verses to put islamic faith in bad light. And most of the time your defense simply encourage other faith to study Islam to understand the truth from cut and paste of few verses that give incomplete meaning and cast doubt on your faith. Usually your response is that other faith take the verse out of context from the complete picture. May I then request you to give us the complete picture of the attack usually cast upon the faith of Islam. Starting from this one.

Muhammed was accused by other faith of child molester because simply of getting involved or married with a 9-year old girl. What is the truth about it from your complete view of Quran?
