I am pagan and i believe that i have a unique view on this..
I think that God made Adam and Eve...
I think that the Creator of the Native Americans led them from the depths into the light.
i think that the various Pagan religions each of which has their own creation story are also correct.
and i think that somewhere in africa around the same time a monkey learned that it can crack a nut between 2 stones easire than it can chew through it.....and that species of monkey evolved into a human.....
just look at what we know of genetics....if there are no new genes addes to the pool every once in awhile strange things start to happen to our bodies... so it is impossible for all of humanity to have come from one man and one woman.
first off if it had well then someone was sleeping with their sister
to begin with. second we would all probally have extra toes and noone would be able to clot their blood. this was proven in the italian renessance. the nobility only marries nobility, after awhile they developed what was called the blood boil. besicaly their blood would not clot and scab over. they had to look to forign nobility to solve this problem.
why is is so hard for people to see that every religion may be correct for people from the differant lands, and correct for people who decide to follow that god. and evolution is a fact we have proof that animals evolve to meet a changing enviroment. we have not proven that humans came from monkey's but we have proven that over the years animals will adapt and change to suit their enviroment.
also remember that when the bible was written the world...was a very small place compaired to today. the end of the world was the nearest body of water that could not besailed acrost in a few days or walked around. could also be a desert that could not be crossed.

Can religions embrace evolution? Certainly. Many of the worlds religious faith already embrace the idea that the human soul or spirit goes through "stages" towards enlightenment. What is this concept other than a spiritual evolution? Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Wicca, Shamanism (if considered a "religious" faith) and others contain nothing that would contradict or exclude the theory of evolution necessarily. Its only when certain groups take into account things like the Genesis account of creation and try to make it a literal and scientific treatise that evolution and religion are at odds. And this is easily overcome by simply viewing such documents for what they are ... Teaching tools that teach, not scientific fact, but spiritual principles. And the subject is, honestly, no more complicated than that. But ... Hey, the human ego prevails consistently and so we have what we have ... Seeming contradictions between one version of the truth and another version of that same truth. Funny, the truth remains constant regardless. ;-) ~ Peace & Blessings ~

I have always said I believe in both Creation and Evolution!!
I don't see why others don't.
I mean, it says in the Bible that God took 6 days to create everything, but people keep thinking that he took 6 "human" days to do it in. However, in the Bible it also says that to God a second in Heaven is what?...a thousand years on earth? So, I'm sure his 6 days amounted up to the rest of the time Science has shown the earth to have existed.
And in Genesis 1:28 it says for Adam and Eve to REpopulate the earth, so obviously they were not the first people. How can you RE do anything without it having already been done once?

Hello beyond
Yes, Religion can embrace evolution..... However God and his words to us cannot embrace evolution. It is not about religion, never was. God and his word is about Israel. Not just the Jews who are of the tribe of Juda. It is about all twelve tribes. The bible is a book to study, not to read from Gen to Rev. It requires great study. Not to be mean or hateful, but you have not made a study of the bible or evolution. Evolution embraces the words perhaps, maybe, if this happened, then perhaps this also happened. You can prove that God exsit. You must study not only the bible, you must study history, yes history to see if the things God said would happen did happen and in what time sequence and are they comming to pass as we ponder this statement of yours. Here is one that God said will happen very soon.
Half the City of Jerusalem will soon go into captivity. You will see it happen. You don't even need to study to know this prophecy. However you will need to study to learn the things that will happen after half the city of Jerusalem is taken.
You have a good day.
Peace and love right back to you.

I'm christian and I've always believed in evolution, cause guess what? It's a fact. That ape to man thing is only a theory of course, not fact, but basically all other evolution, the real factual stuff, sure. We've evolved and are still evolving. Every generation gets taller and supposedly smarter. We all started out black (midocondrial dna proves this), yet our hair, skin and eyes lightened when we moved to colder climates. And quite honestly, I'm glad God had the big cats of the world evolve before I got here, cause that saber tooth thing was horrendous. Not even gonna mention how glad I am He put us here after the T-Rex was gone.

I am a Christian and I do believe in micro-evolution - but not macro-evolution. The difference? Micro-evolution refers to minor adaptations and these have been proven. They also fall perfectly within the Christian philosophy - we were designed and God is the great designer. However, macro-evolution just doesn't work for me. The more I study about the amazing human body, the more incredulous I am that anyone can believe it was not designed. It's like blowing up a junk yard and ending up with a mint condition '67 Chevy, but infinitely much less likely. Evolution takes too much faith for me.

Religion can and does embrace pretty much anything, because it has to be constantly courting popularity by trying to change to suit what people want. It's like any other business - The products change in order to sell better as people's needs and expectations change.
Naturally religion is all nonsense, and evolution is just one of the many reasons we can be sure that no gods exist in reality.

I don't think so. They both deny each other. Some people claim that God made the first molecule, and everything came out of there. But that's neither evolution nor creation. It's a mixture that denies both ideas.

First thing first, lets concider what God really said okay, in Gen. we are told God created the world, and "evening and morning were the first day... evening and morning were the second day" now evening to evening sundown to sundown that is 24 hours, it does not take rocket science to understand God IS able to do what He said He did and He also created A WAY for YOU to enjoy life with Him forever, "For GOD "SO" loved you that He gave [and Jesus gave Himself] that you if you BE-LIVE in Him you will not die but have everlasting life, if you love Him enough to obey Him you will be there, if not you wont its that simple, free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com God bless you
