Were you raised to believe this? Did you read the Bible and decide it for yourself?
Have you questioned this belief, and wondered if it really is the word of God or do you accept it at face value?

Please do not copy and paste answers. I am interested in your thoughts, not in a copy of the Bible. I have my own copy here at home.

You have to be taught.
I doubt there are very many christians who picked up the bible and converted ... much less even understood what they were reading.
Sorta reminds me this story about the Eunuch from Ethopia who when asked if he understood what he was reading, replied, "How can I, except some man should guide me?".

The Word of God is not given to prove truths denied, but to illustrate truths believed.

The Bible is a remarkable book in any light. That it is a cohesive and cross-referential work spanning thousands of years just blows me away. Well, I guess you could say the new testament is "only" two thousand years old.

It reveals the Mind of God, the State of Man, the Way of Salvation and the Dream of Sinners.

Yeah, I accept it as face value - meaning that I believe it is the Will of God. However, I have studied and been taught how to study, how to read, the history, the cultures of the time, the references ... so, face value in the light of my long time study of the book.

How about you?

I don't. I do not believe in any aspect of Christianity.

My parents tried to raise me Christian/Catholic, from the time I was little. Howver, I have read the bible. And found it extremely hypocritical with a lot of unanswered questions.

The bible was not written by God, infact, it had to have been written several years after Jesus. How would they know what days God made things, or whether he made humans on day 6, among other things? We must remember one thing: The bible was written by MAN, not God himself.. Written by men who may have been biased towards certain issues. Not only that, but times change. What may not have been accepted all those years ago, may be accepted now.

You know what's funny? if jesus were to walk the Earth today, and no one knew he was the actual Jesus, he would be locked up as a liberal crazy.

By the way. Jesus was raised from the dead. therefore, he is a zombie. ^____^

The current bible is not the word of God in most part. It does not even itself claims to be. If you take out what is said by God, it comes out to be one -two columns of a newspaper. The moment the langauge dies, the book does not remain authentic as the translations differ quite and meaning can be taken in far different ways. As Jesus was not supposed to be the Prophet for all the people and for the rest of the world his langauge was not saved. It is as simple and straight forward. This is in sharp contrast to the Quran which is preserved letter by letter, word by word for last 1450 years and its langauge today is as fresh as on day 1.As Muhammad was the last and the final Prophet, his book was supposed to be protected and it is. In this regard it can be said that Quran is a living miracle given to Muhammad by the God. Of ocurse Jesus was the great Prophet and we love and respect and honor him. He will come back as he was never killed (They got deceived) and will live as Muslim (As he was Muslim before). He will pray and do the things the way Muhammad (PBUH) described and that would be very simialr to his own way during his time. He will lead the war agaisnt anti Christ who would be a Jew from Iran. THe anti christ Dajjal will have 70, 000 Jews fro Isfahan, Iran and others from Israel etc. Jesus will command Muslim army and eliminate Dajjal and all hs followers and wil lkill the pig and break the cross which were the lies invented by devil Paul.

Well, let's put it this way. I believe it's all we have left of what really should be the complete Bible. Constantine, and the Illuminati Satanists cut out as many books as they could get away with. In a way I'm glad my mom never instilled any religious beliefs in me, but allowed me to find the truth on my own.

Yes, I believe that as the Bible was written by the humans, it was inspired by God.

I studied it.I did my homework. I like the book "Case for Christ"and "Case for faith" by Lee Strobel

The Bible is God's life manual for us. Look how many people are getting together everyday to study more of the word of God.

I believe in the Bible because I believe in the historicity of the people who lived the christian creed as preached to them by Apostles. Same community who later handed down christian teachings(both in oral and epistle forms), preserved them, identified the written teachings and declared them as the Word of God. For without anyone to vouch for its truths, the Bible would be just like a dead book. For who else can vouch for it apart from the community from where it sprang from; the community which lived its truths even before it was written?

logic and probabilities...

no. yes and yes.

absolutely, and yes all the time (or no).

in case you are interested, more and more physicists, mathemematicians, cosmologists & other allied scientists who have devoted their lives to studying their fields of expertise (& most of them were atheists & agnostics) have now realized that the more they study and learn about the universe and everything around us & how all these might have been formed, the more they become determined that there MUST be some sort of SUPERnatural plan behind it...and a huge percentage are now actually believing in God... makes one to think if they have 'discovered' something that our simple minds cannot comprehend (or maybe they just evolved into the common simple-minded folks)

You probably are not going to like my answer. I believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God because the Catholic Church has infallibly declared that it is and I fully submit to the authority of the Church.
