Isn't it enough to be a good person, have good intentions, and help others whenever you have the chance? Why would god want to burn people in hell because they follow the "wrong" religion? What if you were raised by your family from birth to follow a certain religion?

Oh, do not hold us guilty for our former sins! Let your tenderhearted mercies quickly meet our needs, for we are brought low to the dust. Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the honor of your name. Oh, save us and forgive our sins for the sake of your name.… Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will thank you forever and ever, praising your greatness from generation to generation.

'Om' is a chant used during yoga & meditation sessions. It's a way to focus the mind and spirit, and the internal vibrations caused by this word are physically calming. It's also said this is the sound made when the universe was created.

Anyway, a co-worker of mine said she thought it was evil. She wasn't judging me, saying it's ok for me since I'm into yoga & meditation. But she thought it was evil, and reminded her of the word omen (which I guess is supposed to be evil?) She said she would never say this word, or do any sort of chanting.

What's your opinion on this word?

I have weighed Darwinism, and found it lacking.
I have seen the inadequate support from the fossil record and left wondering.
I have thought of the evolution of the eye and left with a head aching.
I have heard them say Creation is ludicrous, and found their belief implies that all things that exist do so only because of chance, and was hurting.
I have witnessed their evasion of certain inqueries and was found weeping.
Darwinists, why do ye feel such convition in belief when it means nothing to the intelligent?
Darwinist, why dost thou torment me so.

We had some women come to our door the other day and I was curious as to what the difference in their beliefs and ours (Baptist).

I do know that they do not accept blood products or celebrate holidays but what other differences are there.

Do they believe in God (as the trinity, God, Jesus and Holy Spirit)?
Do they believe in heaven?

I asked 2 questions. "Theists, is it possible God does not exist?"
and "Atheists, is it possible God exists?"

"Open minded" means the person admits they may be mistaken about their belief.

These are the stats:

Of 13 theists who answered, 3 were open minded, 23%

Of 9 atheists who answered, 7 were open minded, 78%

What does this mean?

Hope they have nice clouds where you end up. I would think that if God made Earth as the one special planet in the Universe, he would have put an infinite shelf life on it. I guess that's why I'm not running the show.

Since 9-11 it has been a calculated US-Israeli tactic to label the fight against Israel's foes as an integral part of the war on terror. On July 19, a rally was held in Washington, featuring the governor of Maryland, several members of Israeli-occupied Congress, the Israeli ambassador, and evangelical leading-light John Hagee. The Washington Post reported that "Speaker after prominent speaker characteriz[ed] current Israeli fighting as a small branch of the larger U.S.-led global war against Islamic terrorism" and "Israel's attacks against the Shiite Muslim group Hezbollah were blows against those who have killed civilians from Bali to Bombay to Moscow." Said the Israeli ambassador: "This is not just about [Israel].

Cancer. Heart disease. Multiple sclerosis. When we think of killer diseases, those are the names that come to mind. But the truth is, there's a far more deadly killer on the loose in the Church today. And it's destroyed more lives than any of us can imagine. It's called tradition. Traditions rob believers of their healing. They steal the power from the promises of God. Here are three you should beware of:

1. The tradition that says it's not always God's will to heal you.

It is God's will to heal you! It says so in His Word. If you don't believe that it is, then you can't pray in faith believing you'll receive. You're like the farmer who sits on his porch and says, "I believe in crops, but I'm not going to plant any seed this year. I'll just believe, and if it's God's will, my crop will come up." That farmer will never see his crop. Faith is the seed of healing--if you don't plant it, it won't grow. A prayer that includes the words, "If it be thy will" won't produce a healing harvest. You must know without a doubt that healing is always God's will for you.

2. Another tradition we hear is that healing has passed away. That there are no miracles today. But the Word of God proves that's not true. In Exodus 15:26, God says, "I am the Lord that healeth thee." He also tells us that He does not change (Mal. 3:6). He has never changed since the beginning of time. For healing to pass away, God would have to pass away...and He is not about to do that!

3. The third dangerous tradition is this one: "God gets glory from Christians being sick." That tradition totally violates the Word of God. The Bible says that people gave glory to God when they saw the lame walk and the blind see. God receives glory from your healing--not your pain!

The world is looking for a way out of sickness and disease, not a way into it. Let's break down those traditions and deliver a hurting world from the most dangerous killer of all.
