Cancer. Heart disease. Multiple sclerosis. When we think of killer diseases, those are the names that come to mind. But the truth is, there's a far more deadly killer on the loose in the Church today. And it's destroyed more lives than any of us can imagine. It's called tradition. Traditions rob believers of their healing. They steal the power from the promises of God. Here are three you should beware of:
1. The tradition that says it's not always God's will to heal you.
It is God's will to heal you! It says so in His Word. If you don't believe that it is, then you can't pray in faith believing you'll receive. You're like the farmer who sits on his porch and says, "I believe in crops, but I'm not going to plant any seed this year. I'll just believe, and if it's God's will, my crop will come up." That farmer will never see his crop. Faith is the seed of healing--if you don't plant it, it won't grow. A prayer that includes the words, "If it be thy will" won't produce a healing harvest. You must know without a doubt that healing is always God's will for you.
2. Another tradition we hear is that healing has passed away. That there are no miracles today. But the Word of God proves that's not true. In Exodus 15:26, God says, "I am the Lord that healeth thee." He also tells us that He does not change (Mal. 3:6). He has never changed since the beginning of time. For healing to pass away, God would have to pass away...and He is not about to do that!
3. The third dangerous tradition is this one: "God gets glory from Christians being sick." That tradition totally violates the Word of God. The Bible says that people gave glory to God when they saw the lame walk and the blind see. God receives glory from your healing--not your pain!
The world is looking for a way out of sickness and disease, not a way into it. Let's break down those traditions and deliver a hurting world from the most dangerous killer of all.

The problem with your question is you said - Do you believe in "old fashion" healing. There is nothing "old fashion" about it.
My mother got healed from M.S. actually. God does want to heal you, but you have to remember - he doesn't always heal us. Everyone has a plan and everyone has a time to die and sometimes when you pray for someone to be healed, it doesn't happen. Not because God doesn't want it to, but because it isn't suppose to happen. That doesn't mean God doesn't care, because he does, it just means that his plan was for that person to die when they did.
There are a lot of miracles today - God works in my life all the time - it doesn't even have to be major. Like I quit smoking after 12 years. No panic attracts, no desire for another one - after the first day of quitting that is. God helped me with it which was a miracle.
I have never heard that God gets glory from us being sick.
If you are attending a church that believes these things that you say are tradition, then maybe you need to find another church.
My church totally believes and teaches about healing, we know God heals and delivers us.

Ok I like what you had to say up until your first point. Are you a "name it and claim it" pentecostal? Because if you are then those same traditions have hurt many Christians as well. Poor people that have believed their loved ones would be healed until they are in the ground. And then they turn back to those same people and ask what happened, only to hear, "You didn't have enough faith honey."
If you want a story about healing and how the Lord works then contact me, because it is very different from what you've stated. It is not always God's will for someone to be healed.
I believe in healing....

Bravo!
Well said.
Healing has not passed away.
It's always of GOD to Believe in Healing.
But be careful and not get it mixed-up with just Mentally Agreeing.
Mentally Agreeing is the First Step to Recieving your Healing by FAITH.
Until you Know that you Know that you Know that your HEALED, take your FAITH with you as you go to the Doctor and take your Medicine.
My ankle was Healed Instantly in a very small BIBLE Study I was going to befor going to Work.
Another Healing has taken Year's, is almost Complete and Yes, I had to Work out my Salvation (Healing in this case) on this one.

Dear, we all have the ability to heal anything the world throws our way in our own individual minds. Go read up on folks with multiple personalities and some of their physical changes upon change of control of their mind.
Belief in the key. If you believed "god" is healing you, your own personal belief is what is driving it, not any invisible diety.

Good for you! Please, stay out of hospitals and cancer wards and let your god heal you. That will leave more room for those of us "non-believers" to get real scientific medical help.
Keep spreading the word - avoid medical care at all costs!

Thank you for sharing this information.
God has the power to answer prayer (and that includes prayer for healing).
God does not promise healing of all sicknesses for all of us and at all times.
(I do not subscribe to the health and wealth gospel).
Cordially,
John
