They do NOT believe in the same Jesus as mainstream Christians do. Check out the links. These should get you pointed in the right direction.

This has been on several times. The Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult that was started around 1900. It was started by one man who was terrified of "hell-fire" and he decided to make his own religion that didn't have any hell. When I first started reading about them, at that time in the 70s, they had only had three leaders. They re-interpreted the bible and got some doctrine to suit the beliefs of their first President. It's better to just not let them in. As an example, one thing they have re-invented is the 144,000 . In Revelation 7 12,000 men from each of the twelve tribes of Israel are sealed to be Jewish evangelists during the tribulation, right after that there is the great multitude in heaven from every tribe, tongue, and land, that are the Christians. The Jehovah's Witnesses did away with the christians and kept the 144,000 but decided instead of Jews the 144,000 is going to be Jehovah Witnesses who have worked real hard. Nobody else is going to heaven just 144,000 JWs who went door to door the most.

The Jehovah's Witnesses or the Watch Tower Tract Society as they call themselves these days ais actually a cult.
The JWs do not believe in the Trinity and they don't believe Jesus was crucified on a cross, they believe he was nailed to a pole.
The JWs freely allow pedophiles in their "society" to visit door-to-door knowing that children are in the homes the visit. On more than one occasion has a JW returned to a home and molested the child he saw there.
I am not making up any of this, it's all true and there is documentation to prove this is factual.
Here's just 2 of many links to start you off so you can find out exactly what type of people are standing at your door:

My step mother is a Jehovas witness, basically it is a cult,. They don't read from a bible they read pamphlets and literature. They do not celebhrate any holidays because you should not put anyone or thing before god. They also have to knock on certain amount of peoples doors to inform them about the relion to even be a part of it. They also believe that if they live the right way there will one day be a utopia on earth. The people I have met in this religion are very judgemental and not very tolerant.

They can't celebrate birthdays, can't have anything patriotic such as flags, etc. They can't vote either. They have to have a 4 door car too. They believe that only 144,000 are going to heaven. They have "levels" in their "religion" and the higher you are then the better chance you have of being one of the 144,000. My neighbor is a Jehovah's Witness and she is paranoid. She says she doesn't trust anyone and basically thinks the world is out to get her. Her house is always locked up and she hardly ever comes outside. They also dress kids up in the winter to look cold and poor so you'll invite them in and then they start telling you about their beliefs. It's a strange deal and all I can say is: I'm happy to be a Christian.
Hope I helped, by the way.

I am going to provide you with a link to the official website of Jehovah's Witnesses. That is the only place you can learn what we really believe.
http://www.watchtower.org/library/jt/index.htm?article=article_01.htm
There are other links on this page that discuss what we believe as well as why we come door to door. I hope you will take the time to look at the information. Please feel free to compare what we believe with what the Bible says. You will find many scriptures throughout the articles.

The best way to find out what a Jehovah's Witness believes would be to ask one of them. Have your own copy of the Bible ready to be able to see if you agree that it says the same thing. In the end it is your choice to agree with them or not.
They have their own website, www.watchtower.org, where you could view their literature without obligation.

I wouldn't judge their religion or anything, but I will never trust the ones who go door to door again. Around 10 years ago, shortly before my grandfather died of Alzheimer's Disease, they used to come around to his house and convince him to give them his money, and it was more than obvious that he didn't understand what was going on.
