When I say salvation, I mean being saved for our sins in this life. We may have been allowed by our faith tradition to sin in so many ways. But, as long as we follow certain traditional atonements then we are saved after death. For instance, we go to a church every weekend and ask for forgivemess. Then, after the weekend we go back to sinning. "the flesh is weak", "only God is perfect" some might say.

Paradise
Paradise is the abode of enjoyment which God, the Exalted, prepared for the righteous. The blessing they enjoy there, no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard of, and no human being has ever imagined: "No soul knows what comfort is kept hidden for them, as a reward for that which they used to do." (32:17)
Muslims believe that mankind's salvation will result from the worship of God as "One" without equals or partners. Islam teaches us that we can pray directly to God without an intermediary and that no soul can bear the burden of another. The Qur'an teaches us that only God can forgive sins, punish or reward. The Qur'an also teaches us that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin and inclined toward goodness and is capable of doing good and unless taught against its nature, will incline toward good deeds. The teachings of Islam guide mankind back to our pure nature through knowledge of God.
Adam "atoned" for his sin by saying "My Lord I have sinned and if you do not forgive me and have mercy upon me then I shall indeed have lost." So God forgave him. Similarly, all human beings have the door to forgiveness left open to them by God

Everyone is different. What you believe to be better, might not be what someone else believes to be better. You seem to be puzzled, probably because someone gave you a pitch on salvation. Those things can be really confusing (if you're genuinely trying to understand their content).
To help you with your question, the following quiz might be of value:
1. A man tells a child that letting him touch his/her crotch is ok.
2. A preacher tells you he can save your soul.
3. A fox tells you she can give you a quickie.
You have to decide who is telling you the truth.
For some people, this quiz is a piece of cake. For others, it's difficult. Hope you do well. But here are some hints, whether you need them or not: If you chose 1, you may want to consider telling your parents and asking them to call the police. If you chose 2, you understand what fiction is. If you chose 3, you understand what nonfiction is.

Sure.
Thinking for yourself.
Having a fully functioning brain.
Having ideas not jotted down in an outdated book of bronze-age jewish mythology.
See? Many things are better than salvation. You may want to give one of them a try...

Pie.
I just don't believe in salvation. The god in the Bible is a big fat jerk, and so were Jesus' followers. I think we should all just live nicely and be tolerant to a point, but not for some afterlife story.

No.Salvation is the greatest thing. You live a wonderful life with ups and downs ,but you know no matter what happens in life there is a place where there is no pain ,no worries or anything but pure happines and love waiting for you. No one can take that from you no matter what.

Of course not. How could anything be better than being assured that God has accepted you and provided a place for you in Heaven?

Nothing is better. The poor, stubbon non-believers who don't share the joy of Rev. Harry Hardwick (attached) ... tsk, tsk, tsk.
