...what do fundamentalists believe? It's all a lie, or that was part of the grand plan? What I wish people would understand is that it is the religion that is in question, not the faith. People have such a hard time prying themselves from their beliefs, they will justify their arguments with any last rediculous straw rather than ask how this new understanding can help me strenghten their faith. I fear for people who are so scared others might change their flawed paradigm that they lash out with anger reather than look within.

To be unfulfilled and never get married and have no kids or is it better to be complete with a partner or child for a while and then have to be torn apart from them due to loss of their life? Is it better to love or not to have loved at all?

"Do good, and leave behind you a monument of virtue that the storms of time can never destroy. Write your name in kindness, love, and mercy on the hearts of thousands you come in contact with year by year, and you will never be forgotten. Your name and your good deeds will shine as the stars of heaven."

In 2 Samuel 12:15, because David committed a crime in order to marry Bathsheba, god killed their firstborn child--not the offending adulterers! In fact, the poor baby suffered seven days before dying. It was kind of strange that god should do this, since in Deuteronomy 22:22 god clearly commanded that adulterous couples should be executed and in Deuteronomy 24:16 said that children should not be put to death for the sins of their fathers. God's ways are mysterious beyond all insanity.

All religions contradict eachother. Hindus believe in many Gods, buddhist have no god, muslims believe in an Impersonal and strict God, while Christains believe in a personal and loving God who died/rose for us> either God is schizophrenic therefore unperfect or we are worshipping different "God(s)"..which is it??

Just wondering if any of you Atheists or Agnostics believe in some sort of existence as some sort of being, spirit, or energy after death?

Now, I'm not talking about continuing on as the bugs that eat you or the matter from your body getting changed into something else.

Essentially I'm asking if any of you believe that there is some sort of spiritual energy that is part of everyone and whether that spirit or energy continues on after death. Additionally I'm curious as to what you think that existence would be like.

Please explain your answers as I like to know why people believe what they do.

In the book "People who don't know they're dead" by Gary Hill, it sugests that a lot of mental disorders are actually people obssesed with spirits that never made it to the other side. Meds make you tired, you stop acting up, but without them, you are weird. What do you think of that posibility? Could that be the reason why people can not get cured many times for mental disorders, but just be "under control"? Anxiety, depression, acting different when under influance... Not possesed by demons, just "hitch-hiking spirits who are not in the right place".

The Old Testament god kills people left and right. He even tells the Hebrews to slaughter entire cities for not believing in him.

Judges 1:4 And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.

So how exactly does the OT god suddenly become a nice, kind and cuddly god in the NT? Why is Jesus really the only one who says that god is a nice guy? Isn't he a little biased?

Why Jesus was taken out of the cross when well documented Crucifixion by Romans states clearly that the whole idea of it it to show to others.
Ppl still lives on the cross up to 7 days.
Ppl that were crucified were the lowest class of that time (regardless who jesus was)
The whole punishment idea is that others will observe for several days.
Guards had to protect those who were crucified and no1 could get close to them.

Can we consider that is a miracle in Jesus case? And i think it has to be a miracle and its way bigger than turning water in wine. It’s even bigger than Coca-Kola turn tab water into the spring water.

I don't ever remember asking you to do that. You guys need to chill out a bit.

I see that sometimes you use that bible thing to justify it sometimes. Some of you seem to think that it was me who wrote this book or inspired it.I mean come on, I can't even use spellcheck.

I finally got around to reading the bible and woah ! i mean I appreciate the bigraphy but are you guys way of the mark or what.

I didn't smite anyone and what's this about a flood and plagues of locusts ? Ugh I hate insects. I didn't realise that they would evolve.

As for a flood and an ark, I get sea sick watching speed 2 so forget that.

And NO, I have nothing against gay people. Sheesh !

If you must make up stories fine, but please don't use these stories in order justify to hating and killing each other.

Look after each other............... that's all I ever wanted.

Have you ever eaten jesus? He said you had to to. In John 6: Jesus said that people must eat his flesh and drink his blood. He was not speaking in metaphors because to metaphorically eat and drink someone in aramaic means to persecute someone (he who persecutes me will live?) In John 6: 60 people cannot deal with it so much that they leave him. If JESUS didn't actually mean "EAT ME" WOuld he have let them leave? And then even given his apostles the chance to leave?

I HAVE EATEN JESUS BODY BLOOD SOUL AND DIVINITY AND IT IS AWESOME!

Receiving answers to a previous question, I was both told they don't apply by some, yet they do apply by others. If they do apply, explain why you pick and choose which ones you do use and why you purposely break others.
If you feel they don't apply, do you reference them to prove a point in debates and discusions? Why?

I know that Muslims, Christians, and Jews all revere Abraham as a prophet/spiritual leader. I was just curious about what some of those similarities and differences are.
