Don't just say follwing Christ. I want what characteristics a person needs to be considered a Christian beyond claiming to be one.

This was posted recently on yahoo answers as an answer to another question. Curious what teaching this is??

"Jesus was NOT crucified. He was raised to the sky before being that, and the one who was crucified was NOT Jesus, but a similar to him."

Condemning Islamic terrorism is all over the place, but who really are the real terrorists? Muslims practice reactive, individual, scattered attacks every now and then and you know some bad apples, but what about this long term, organized, systemic, state terrorism practiced by America in Iraq, and Afghanistan, and Israel in Palestine, and Lebanon? History is recording, Muslims will not forget, and God will no forgive.

I have heard all the time that Mormons don't beleive in being saved by Grace, but I am Mormon and I can tell you that I have been taught all along that I am saved by the Grace of God, through faith (as it says in Ephesians). I have looked, and nowhere in the Book of Mormon does it say anything to the contrary of this, so please, somone enlighten me, people have asked me why we don't beleive in being saved by Grace, and I have no idea where they are getting that.

Among those beliefs crucial to Christianity few are of greater importance than that of the Resurrection. Paul went so far as to allege the very foundation of Christianity rests upon its occurrence.

1Cor. 15:14 "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." ( also: 1 Cor. 15:17)

Yet, why should the Resurrection be of such significance.(?) Elijah raised a child from the dead (1Kings 17:17, 21-22); Samuel said to Saul, "Why hast thou disquietedme, to bring me" (1Sam. 28.7, 11, 15); Elisha raised the dead son of a Shunammite ( 2 Kings 4:32, 34-35); a dead man being lowered into a grave revived when he touched the bones of Elisha (2 Kings 13:21); Moses and Elijah revived at the time of the Transfiguration ( Luke 9:28, 30 );the saints arose at the time of Jesus' death ( matt. 27:52-53 ); Jairus' daughter rose from the dead (Matt. 9:18, 23-25 ); the widow at Nain's son rose from the dead (Luke 7:11-15 ); and Lazarus rose from the dead ( John 11:43-44)

If in fact he ever lived?

The Virgin Birth is among those concepts that are crucial to an adequate understanding of Christianity, one of the stones in the ideological foundation. Yet, like other stones, it is premeated with problems and contradictions that need to be exposed. Apologists contend the miraculous nature of the event could only be associated with the birth of a divine being, namely Jesus Christ. But what is so miraculous about a virgin birth? Webster's Dictionary defines it as a birth in which the mother retains her virginity by having no contact with a male. But this isn't a miraculous event. An egg can easily be taken from a virgin, united with a sperm in a test tube and re-inserted into the uterus without any physical contact being involved.

so is the miracle a test tube birth?

I had to ask. I have always wondered how they can call themselves Christians when the women dress so trashy and loud, they spend a fortune on hair spray and tacky clothes and let's face it they could feed China on what they spend on make up. Seriously how can they expect others to take them seriously? I have never understood that. I was raised Baptist and my grandparents watched them religiously. Personally I think they personify Christianity gone wrong.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

Didn't you know that Blaire, mother of Folly, said this in the sacred texts:
"And the people cried out, "Nah, for we have but the love of Jesus!"And Blaire said unto them, "Does he give you joy and ask not of your love in him and still offer you his grace?Does he give you keys to your Heaven without asking for your devotion?" S.T.1. 1:4

You hear stuff like this all the time..

"What if your wrong about the whole thing? You don't fare so well in the end. What if I'm wrong? I die having not done a few things that Christians deem bad? In the end, I would rather take the safe way out and believe."

It seems it would be impossible to be safe from the many hells of religions of the world.
