I had to ask. I have always wondered how they can call themselves Christians when the women dress so trashy and loud, they spend a fortune on hair spray and tacky clothes and let's face it they could feed China on what they spend on make up. Seriously how can they expect others to take them seriously? I have never understood that. I was raised Baptist and my grandparents watched them religiously. Personally I think they personify Christianity gone wrong.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

Now there you have me. I don't like tv and wouldn't want to be on it. I barely handle those after Mass get to gethers. I am what you would call shy.

Jesus warned us about this, remember?
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.

Well, obviously I agree. I don't see these guys spreading the word in sandals and sackcloth. There's much more money in preaching than in Jesus's day.

I'd only point out that China probably isn't a good choice for your camparison for a few reasons - a) China isn't poor (though it has poverty; so does the USA); b) China isn't hungry, c) China is enormous - almost one quarter of the Earth's population - so feeding it really says something about those televangelists' make-up spend.

If there was a hell, those materialistic scammers would spend a tidy portion of eternity there atoning for using Christ to make themselves very, very rich indeed. On rare occasions I wish there was divine justice.

Hi Debra, That is a great question to ask! I love watching TBN and other christian television, and I see exactly what you are talking about but if you read Mathew 7 it says "Do not Judge, or you too will be judged." Also in answer to your question in 1 John 4 it talks about the tests of the spirits. It says that if anyone who claims to be a christian and acknowledges Jesus, or says in Jesus name, is that of christ.....

Anyone who does not do this is the spirit of the antichrist..... If you were on t.v I am sure you would try to look your best.

i do no longer watch televangelists and neither could your mom. They pray upon the naive and properly sorry the ignorant. various human beings like a competent practice and those characters be conscious of the thank you to act, strut and communicate loud like they be conscious of what they are speaking approximately. Their doctrine is corrupt, their motives are impure, and their antics are an internet site out of Elmer Gantry. i will say some thing and it somewhat is fairly tricky. If all and sundry is taken in, then they should be taken in.

There are a lot of church services on TV too, representing all kinds of people. Not all television broadcasts are the weirdly dressed ones.

Fortunately God's looking on the inside rather than on the outside. I try not to be distracting in what I wear, so people can concentrate on what I'm teaching.

they are wolves in sheeps clothing. They teach what people want to hear inorder to make money. Joel Osteen denied Jesus is the only way on Larry King live!!! They preach "self-esteem, live a happy life, do what makes you happy, etc. Instead they should admit we are sinners in need of forgiveness!!!....but most people dont' want to hear that, but its the truth.

Welcome to my world, I have no use for the "Send your money to Jesus, but make the check out to me" crowd.

Jesus would not have lived in a multimillion dollar home or worn $2000 suits while his followers went hungry and sent him money rather than pay for their meds.

Less than intelligent people are being duped into the idea that they can buy their way into heaven.

I understand they're in it for the money, but isn't the question why people take them seriously? No one has answered this yet.
