Why would they do that - he was thought of as a criminal by the sanhedrin and pharisees.

There have been artifacts like pieces of the true cross or pieces of Jesus' robe circulating since Jesus was around. Most of them are nothing but fakes, and frankly it would be hard to tell if a piece of wood was part of the cross even if it was the right age.
Someone once observed that it must be a miracle, since if you gathered up all the pieces of the true cross that are exibited everywhere (the same goes for most other holy relics like fingerbones of saints) that they would together wieght several tons.

Jesus didn't have a crucifix. He was nailed ot a cross, and it was probably used again more than once, since there wasn'tmuch good, strong, straight, wood left at that time that didn't have to be imported. And I suspect the Romans charged his family for the cost of the wood as well.

At one point, there were enough pieces of the crucifix to construct 500 crucifixes from the pieces. Truly a miracle.
Either that or the relic trade used to be big business.

"They" didn't think to save pieces of wood from one of gawd-knows-how-many ritual punishments of the era. I guess the leaders of the ancient world weren't psychic enough to figure out who would win the biggest cult status of all the political martyrs of the day.

Yes. They saved many peices of wood from Jesus' cross. We have one in our church as a matter of fact. (It is only about the size of a splinter)

Yes, but it isn't at the Vatican, it is at McDonald's Headquarters. They are planning on giving it away as the prize in the one billionth Happy Meal sold when they sponsor the movie "Passion of the Christ 2: Revenge of the Messiah".

There are so many pieces of the "True Cross" floating around, it would constitute a forest.
I am impressed with those churches who claim to have Jesus' foreskin.

I have notice that most of your question are foolish and non-sense. Thinking that you can mock God...
I want to be present and see when you are in agony, not that I desire this for you, but I can hear you crying out for Him.

So are you still pretending to be a "Christian" to stir up more people? You really fooled people the last time you did it.
