I believe in God, the One God, & im a Christian. But why do we have to have a religion, we can worship directly to God coz God is within us, evrywhere, the edge. Religion divides the world.Just wanna know, just popped out in my mind. And follow up question, is God a male or female?

I'm a Christian, I carry a copy of the Bible ( KJV)
and some Gospel of John booklets. I enjoy studying God's word wherever I go. It brings me wonderful comfort! I also try to bring a small notebook so I can write down things I would like to to further research and verses I would like to memorise, or use in letters to friends.

When I was a Pagan, I carried my medicine pouch filled with some sweetgrass, sage, cedar and other traditional Native American medicines, and some clear quartz most of the time.

Obviously gravity is a fact. If I jumped off a building, I can say "It's only a theory" all I want, but it's still going to hurt when I hit bottom.

How, pray tell, can you say it's a theory?

Did god also created universe, black holes, supernova... bacteria, virus...
did god experiment with Dinosaurs and failed, so god killed them all?
Did god tell someone to write down what he did on a book called Bible? But not mention all these? if not who knew it was god who did the creation? It doesn't make sense.

It makes no sense at all. Jesus wouldnt be involved in that kind of stuff right? He would be fighting with others like the Republicans if he was.

Based on my previous question (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApFyUq3aVvuZr8VwxQpp7_vzy6IX?qid=20060718201901AA3CoKP ) I see that most creationists who answered don't know what the word "theory" really means in a scientific context. It doesn't mean, "guess". A theory is: "A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY TESTED.”
With that being said, do creationists also reject the theory of gravity? Or the theory of electromagnetic waves? Or what about the theory that the earth revolves around the sun?

When you pray to god to give you courage or strenght, its not him that does it. You give that to yourself. When you think "i prayed for a good day today, so it must be true", you really do have a good day, but god didn't give it to you. Your mind is focused on positive things because you believe your day is going to be great. If you believe you're happy, it is true.Praying for other people certainly does not work at all. They will do what they please wether you pray or not. And if it just so happens that it does work, its either a coincidence or because you talked them into whatever you thought is right (which is so typical of christians). If you pray to god that you can survive after an accident, and you do, it isnt because you prayed, it is because you believed you will survive. Its not god's power that helps you, its the power of your mind. Praying will not get you anywhere. Weak minded people need to pray because otherwise, they don't believe in themselves. But what about the rest?

If you are not a true student of the term, "Gnosis", please do not bother to answer this question. Yes, I know all about the simple Christian misrepresentations of the Gnostics. Who among you has actually bothered to read the Nag-Hammadi texts?
