Wouldn't it be great if everyone became a Jew, or a Muslim, or a Hindu, or a Buddhist?

If there was a benefit to "coming to Christ," then sure, I'd wish that.
But I see no benefit. To "come to Christ," I'd have to deny myself and how I am. And I'd have to do that on an empty promise with no evidence that the payoff would be big in the end.
I won't "come to Christ" or Allah or Vishnu or any other supposed deities. If the deity wants me badly enough, he can ask. And preachers don't count. That's a mortal man asking me to believe in his fairy tale. I want an invitation directly from Christ or whoever.

You sure opened a can of worms didn't you...It would be nice if all could think the way of a christian but that is impractical. All have the right to believe, disbelieve or choose to walk another path when it comes to religion. You know that and you need to stop moping about it and love too. If I can get a better outlook so can you.....What happened to you....you lost the love of your life or what...There's friends or isn't that good enough anymore. Sorry for trying all these months. I guess I failed too...........(itsimpossible) (or is it possible)

We'd be better off if more people would instead accept the truth that the whole "Christ" thing is fiction. I suppose there'd be some advantage to having everyone share the same false belief, but I still think that it'd be better if we valued the truth more and got over all of this supernaturalist nonsense.

Yes, I wish everyone would come to Jesus as Lord. Unfortunately we know from the Bible that this won't happen. The lie of world peace will only bring the beginning of the end. I think as Christians we have to love God is such a way that people notice God and what He can do in their lives.

Yes, but it's not going to happen until most Christians dissappear, and the hard times hit. Lots of people will fall for lies, and lots of people will lose their faith. But there will still be a strong witness.
On the encouraging side, there are many, many people we don't hear about that are coming to Christ on the other side of the world. My pastor told us about a trip he took a year ago (he was on sabbattical) in India. There was a man who became a Christian in a small village. His family disowned him, his own family beat him up. Then they forbade him to draw water from the village well, which forced him to go miles every day to get water. But he persisted and prayed. Now, nearly everybody in his village, including his family, are believers in Christ.
While people in America are falling away, people in India are turning to Christ in record numbers. It's ironic. America may soon become a mission field!
Plus, people in the Muslim world are hearing the gospel in record numbers, due to Christian broadcasting, and satellite dishes. Bibles disappear from hotel rooms where Muslims have stayed. They are not permitted to purchase Bibles. But there is nothing wrong with them stealing Bibles! Those who come to Christ in Muslim lands are often very quiet and secretive about their new faith. They may be shy about sharing it now, but they know persecution in a way that we in the west have not had in ages.
Even if all fall away in America, God will not be left without a faithful remnant. They may be in India or Saudi Arabia, but God will not fail.

NO, I most certainly do not. In fact, I wish the complete opposite. Organized religion is responsible for many horrible things in the world, including, but not limited to: War, prejudice, conflict, controversy, guilt over having sex without a stupid piece of paper that says you can (marriage), closed-mindedness, homophobia and corporate scamming.

religion/belief is a personal thing, to say one is better than another is a bit absurd. If you look at all the major religions of the world you will find that they are monotheistic and have basically the sam beliefs. It is the interpitation of those beliefs that cause strife. I am a Christian, but I find organized religion oppressive, more so than many governments
