In the bible it states "And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years." GENESIS 6:3, so why do we only live to be around 80?

I totally didn't mean this question as an insult or joke:

I am asking second time since ppl gives me all kinds of answer except for Question i am asking.
I am not looking why GOD punished Eve. I am not looking was Eve right or wrong. ( bad or evil only after she ate the fruit not while she was doing it.) I am not interesting that she disobeys GOD-(disobeying is good or bad? can only be determining after she ate the fruit).
Knowledge VS understanding. The grand Q is:
Did Eve had a knowledge ( such event exist) of death or she had full understanding of death ( consequences and so on…)
Example: A thermostat has knowledge of a temperature change, but not understanding.
“There was tree of life in the midst of the Eden. (Eating fruit of tree of life would make them eternal, than eat fruit of Knowledge).”
Please, Please, Please answer only the Question I asked if you can. Knowledge vs understanding.

If I have a kid would I expect that kid to worship me? If the kid didn't worship me as the greatest being in all of creation would it be my right to throw him into an inferno for all eternity?

Randy G touched on an issue that I've been thing about for a while. In answer to my question about original sin he said:

"With due respect to the guy above, how can you look at a newborn baby and not realize that humans are inherently selfish from birth? We have to be taught to share, care, and to love. Goodness does NOT come naturally. "

This reminds me of how a woman in a church I used to attend said she was convinced that humans were basically evil in nature because look how selfish and mean kids can be.

I think they are both wrong. I think the reason behind kid's selfish behavior is that they are both trying to survive in life and are as yet ignorant about how their actions affect others. Or ignorant (esp as a baby) that others have needs (Like mommy needs rest and stuff like that). They just don't know better, they have to learn.

I think kid's bad behavior is not a sign of evil nature, it's a combination of neediness and ignorance. What do you think?

The only exceptions I can think of is teaching theology, maybe history. My question is a criticism of the lack of scientific judgment indicated by accepting the creationist position. It goes to qualifications for a job, similar to asking if someone who accepts Vitalism should be teaching biology. I am not attacking faith, only asking if it should have certain consequences.

Any religion that is carried to the extreme, and becomes an obsession, is bad! People have to know that they are free to observe any religion, as long as they don't force it on others!!!!! When they start forcing people to hear what they belive, when they start fighting others because they believe they are right.... then it is no longer a religion.... but a means to cause harm. Worship, live, enjoy what you believe in, and leave others to do the same, in peace and harmony. Some people already know this, and the ones that don't have a mental imbalance that should be corrected. No one's religion is the "one and only one" this people should learn to accept. I belive when this is finaly accepted, there will be true peace on earth. Blessed be

We've all heard that the sucide bombers were promised a boat load of female virigns upon doing their jobs. But, what about the female suicide bombers? Do they get 72 male virgins? Assuming they do, Do women actually want a bunch of male virgins fumbling around, trying to learn the basics of sex?

Hi guys, heres my question
Some Christians say everything that happpens is gods will, is that true? If everything is according to god will how are we able to sin and commit the actions we know the lord would not want us to.

If evolution started with one woman and one man being evolved, what are the chances of those two being evolved in the same place. Why didn't Eve get evolved in New Zealand, and why didn't Adam get evolved in Tennesse? Of course we know the lands wasn't named but was still there. And if they was evolved how did they get to each other? Sounds like to me someone(God) put them in the same place. If this earth is millions of years old, why isn't things still evolving? Best answer will get 10 points. I want those who believe in Evolution to please answer.

Two questions, from Genesis and Matthew (related questions)

Don't get your Bible see if you can answer from memory.

Who had the scarlett thread on their hand at birth, placed by the midwife,

Perez or Zerah / Genesis 38:28-30 / Guess before you answer

And also, from Matthew 1:3 (guess based on what you know before hand)

Which is an ancestor directly related to Josheph, Perez or Zerah.

(Just was reading this on the train last night, the cool thing about it to me was what happened to the ancestor in Genesis)

For example, they can't prove evolution wrong so they finally admit that it happened but God set it in motion. They can't prove the Big Bang wrong so they say sure it happened but God made it happen. They always have to corrupt scientific theories to make them religiously biased.

Many answers that cite the bible or interprete from the bible don't bring me forward. After reading I mostly don't feel smarter than before. It's soo lazy, and easy.
It's like someone saying.. "hey watch out kiddi, here it goes.. there it ends, believe it or not, black on white, that's the universe, that's life, no option left that is not conform". ???
What the hack..help, is this religion going down some day? I feel lack of inspiration for all great things to come and to explore.

i love God and i believe because all the truth is in the Bible, plus if u look in the Book of Revelation there are all ready somethings that already happened before the end of the world comes to an end. But that's not wat i only believe.I know and feel that he is their in Heaven looking down at us. Plus when my mom was little, she was laying down on the ground looking up in the sky and she felt that there was something up there (by the way, she was born deaf). So one day she went to church and she found out that it was God, that is wat she felt. also, do u think people just appear? i don't. do u think science made us? if it did, won't some people still be made today out of nowhere from science. Now how do u explain how miracles happen? like i saw on telavision, this little girl got hit by a car and all kinds of people rushed out to help her, they put her on the ground and formed a circle around the little girl, held hands and pray. this women looked at the little girl and saw the little girls dint in her head went back to normal and she woke up. Do u think that came from science? i think not. Or this one time there was this women with a bad heart and she was fixing to die, then when some church people came by they started praying together. then she felt something strange had happened, she told the doc.'s that felt better then before, so the doc.'s did a looked at her heart again and it was like new, before her heart was very bad like a 50% and then now it is a 100%. Now that didn't come from science did it? absolutly not. and there lots of other stories too about miracles happening. how do u explain those? i know, by God. Now wat do u believe? science made us or did God make us? i believe God did. Just look at the Bible, read It. Go to church. and then hopefuly u will see.
