I agree with you. We are not evil or selfish from birth. If an infant that cries to be fed selfish? No, he or she is helpless and has an instinct to survive. Original sin is an idea I completely disagree with because we are not born sinners, if this world was without sin, what would we do all day? Humans need the challenge of a world like ours and the apple of Genesis, I believe, was just an excuse to get us there.
It is the "sinner" "evil" mentality that binds us to the slavery of negativity. Instead of accusing humanity if its many crimes, people must come to accept ourselves as not perfect, only then can we move on

I think that the "original sin" stuff in a load of CR@P. I agree with you. How can you look at a baby, who will love you from the beginning, and say that that is sin-full because they have some physical needs. Children who are old enough to truly understand good from bad, that is usually a sign of a testing child. There really needs to be a balance in the world. There are to many people telling others that they are evil, when they should be only judging themselves. Ignorance with closed heart and mind is a good way to put it.

i think all evil is "a combination of neediness and ignorance" for instance the Nazi's needed a scape-goat.
I dont think original sin has anything to do with our inherit evilness.
the bible never mentions original sin. i think what the Bible was originally going for is that when we were first created we did things that would be considered immoral, like walking around naked. Then, once we ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil we became aware of our sinfulness, and hence nakedness, so we were responsible for our actions. This awareness is inherent in everyone but so is our sinfulness which we had since before the eating of the forbidden fruit.
That's my take on the Bible

I do not believe that humans are basically evil. But without good parenting children can become evil. I remember hurting a cat when I was 4 years old because i heard they always land on their feet. I threw it harder and harder to see if this was true. Then my mother saw and asked me if I'd like to be thrown by a giant over and over again. Hmmm of course not. Well, mom said, "that cat has feelings just like you do. If you do anything to another human or to an animal that you would not want done to you, then you are doing evil." Hmmm. I got it and have been careful all my life to
treat all creatures with love and gentleness. I think in children, bad behavior is ignorance and only needs someone to help them understand.

I don't know if I'd say people are "Evil" by nature, but definitely rebellious.
Children have to learn how to be good people (some more than others). If they are not taught that behavior through modeling, then more often than not, they're generally not very well-behaved and self-centered.

All "evil" is ignorance.
Evil is a minus. A vacuum. The emptiness in a cup. Darkness where light should be.
Life is about learning, exchanging ignorance for knowledge, darkness for enlightenment.

Yes absolutley, the human race is evil by nature. Have you ever met anyone taught to lie? It is a natural instinct.

No, I do not think it is evil. It is how we are made. If all things come from God, then we are not inheritly evil. We learn evil ways.
As to the original sin stuff. I do not believe sex and having babies are evil nor a sin, we are doing things we are made to do. We can use our nature instincts to do evil, but they are not inheritly evil, if you understand my meaning.

Had Eve not eaten the stupid fruit, we would be living in a perfect world and there would be no sin.
