If you study history, gods are constructs of people trying to explain things they fear, or don't understand. They provide comfort, giving the sense that there is a plan, or design, to the things that happen, no matter how bad or good.
Religions, and gods, come in all shapes and sizes, and change with the times. Humans themselves haven't changed much over the centuries. We still seek explainations and comfort.
As we advance our scientific knowledge and technical capablities, it's easy to forget how much we still don't know about the physical universe, and how simple explanations for erstwhile mysteries like "why does it rain?" that we all understand today were centuries in the unravelling. The more complicated the mystery, the more we think we'll never understand its mechanics. For many, it's more comforting to believe that a higher power is behind such things, than to believe they themselves will never know the why of it.
Death, for example. We are approaching a time when it may be possible to map human consciousness to a degree that will allow us to see where it goes when we die. That's a scary one for almost everyone. If you believe in a god who ensures your continued self-awareness after death, that's far more comforting to you than the possibility that your consciousness scatters to the 4 winds.
So, in a need for knowledge and understanding, for those who wish it, gods are as real as they can possibly make them. If you build temples to it, pray to it, ascribe all manner of behaviors and acts to it, tell stories about it, and love it whole-heartedly, it's real enough. Isn't it?

Are UFOs real? There is as much evidence of one as the other...
Other people's opinions won't really help with this question: you have to decide for yourself. There is no argument that anyone can put on a message board that will conclusively go either way on this; no amount of "my parents believe it", "just look around", or "Madeline Murry O'Hare said" can establish the existence or non-existence of either a superior being or UFOs. Whatever way you go, though, try not to make a major decision concerning your core assessment of reality because of a friend who once read a physics book or the Bible. Ask a lot of questions, and be careful in your assessment of answers before you come to any conclusions. There are too many idiots with half-baked opinions on both sides already...

I believe that God is real but you will never know until you die...while you are on earth you might as well believe and have faith and just think that he is,but unless you are saved then I don't believe that you will ever get to see him if he is real...in my heart and soul I do believe that he is real because of how I was brought up and what I want to believe in but if you want to experience what Heaven is going to be like then I suggest that you get saved if you aren't already...if there is such a thing and your not saved then earth is the best you're ever gonna have and I don't think that it is all that great...
I was watching a show on tv and a little boy believed in God and he was about to die of a disease and this is what he described Heaven to be like...
Hunting for gummy bears and chocolate rabbits and fishing for swedish fish...LOL that is what I like to see from a little boy that is dying and he can't WAIT to get to Heaven

Which one? I don't believe in any of the gods I've read about. Anyone that claims they know the truth are welcome to believe as such, but it does not make it true, nor does it suggest
(IMO) that this person has made an honest attempt to research the subject. Don't take anyone's word for it. Belief has more to do with time and place than by any truth any religion has ever revealed.

Aristotle proved that God is the One who organizes and sustains matter (the material world) in existence. He is the "prime mover." According to Aristotle's arguments, if the Prime Mover were to stop willing your existence for even a fraction of a moment, you would cease to exist. Jesus evidenced that God is an intimately involved and passionate father to all who would obey Him.
So, that you exist is proof that God exists. That he persists in supporting your existence and blessing you with all manner of good things (such as life, reason, daylight, food, etc.) proves that he is benevolent.
