Many answers that cite the bible or interprete from the bible don't bring me forward. After reading I mostly don't feel smarter than before. It's soo lazy, and easy.
It's like someone saying.. "hey watch out kiddi, here it goes.. there it ends, believe it or not, black on white, that's the universe, that's life, no option left that is not conform". ???
What the hack..help, is this religion going down some day? I feel lack of inspiration for all great things to come and to explore.

To ppl who want me to read the bible: I think I can recall the basic stories from the old and new testament but I don't see a reason why I should prefere that teaching in front of others.. Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, etc.., my opinion, ok?

I'm angry about ppl here, which (miss)use their believe as universal problem solver for all kinds of questions..in fact I'm pissed of ppl trying to convert me to their church, to their private truth. I life my own reality and believe but I don't put it everytime in front of someone who says hi, can you help me with something.
I have friends who are christians but they know how to control themselves, must be because they recognize that their truth is really theirs but NOT universal.

I think it's great that you admitted this. Alot of people just read the bible as if it's a novel. The reason why they don't get anything from it is b/c it wasn't meant to be a novel. It was meant to record everything that happened from the beginning to show why Jesus had to come & what we should do about it.
2 Peter 1:16
"We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty."
John 21:25
"Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written."

I suggest you get a bible and start reading the new testament first. I read from the New International version b/c it's in updated English. Read the gospels and then branch out from there. Don't let people discourage you with FIRE and YOU'RE GOING TO HELL scriptures. First focus on Jesus and God should swing you to the rest. Email me anytime if you'd like.

My own experience is not so much that the answers from the Bible are so black and white, but that there are these conventionally accepted explanations and interpretations that are taken as the only right way to understand it. The overused expressions taken from it that many people feel explain everything, don't answer my big questions. If you want to find inspiration in the Bible, try reading it while shutting out everything you've ever heard people saying that it means. Maybe you will find out something new.

I would say that the answers probably don't satisfy you because you don't believe the source.

Research the source...find out if it's reliable or not. If you need starting materials, check out "Evidence That Demands A Verdict" by Josh McDowell (if the size of the book is intimidating, look for the abridged version called "More Than A Carpenter"). But don't stop there...find other materials to investigate the historical, archeological and scientific aspects of the Bible and see if it's reliable.

If I answer with my words, I'm uneducated.
If I answer with His words, I'm just lazy.

Whatever.
