I would think they would be supportive of Love. Do they think its not love? Then why would they want to get married in the first place. They can already stay home and have sex as much as they want. Would christians rather have a gay person not in a committed exclusive relationship?

Come on let's talk about the Eucharist. I say it is the Body and Blood of Christ. Give me your thoughts both informed and ignorant alike.

If God had not given any commandments and there were no rules in society, what would have been the outcome? Would the world we live in be worse or better?

Leviticus 20: 7-14

"Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.
If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to daeth. He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head.
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife-with the wife of his neighbor-both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
If a man sleeps with his father's wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their heads.
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their heads."

It continues... what do y'all think about this????

I think since religon factions are always killing each other because we do not hold their religon in high esteem. With no religon what would we have to kill them over? Could the Jews and other Arabs live in peace? Would the Muslims quit killing their own women and children. IS it worth a try? This is serious but answer anyway.

What would happen if you started using your words here to pray for those who persecute, instead of butting heads? A change in the dynamics might bring some incredible results.

I lost my faith years ago.. during the famine in Ethiopia in the 1980s. I saw people dieing slow painful deaths. I rationalised that perhaps God had deemed that they should suffer that way for not being Christian (or maybe Muslim). For having chosen and followed the "wrong" faith anyway.

I then realised that there were tiny children suffering similar agonising deaths, and those that didn't die would have disabilities caused by malnutrition. Their lives would never reach their full potential.

I asked myself, how is it that God would do this sort of thing? Even if it was the fault of the adults for having chosen the wrong or no faith, what about these children who were entirely dependent on the prevailing culture and religions their parents had. They had no choice or power to exercise a choice in faith. Why were they suffering by God's will?

. . . why doesn't Genesis begin "In the beginning God created the Universe, all the galaxies, the solar system and Earth."
If He(sp?) did, He(sp?) should give Himself(sp?) some credit for it.

Jesus ans the Apostles used the Greek Septuagint. It was translated in Alexandria (285-246 B.C.) This old Testament had these 7 books: (Tobit,Judith, Baruch,Wisdom, 1&2 Maccabees).
Martin Luther used The Jewish Cannon of Jamnia.

Every time the New Testament uses and quotes the Old Testament, It takes the Verses from the Septuagint. That is what Paul and the Apostles used.
