I grew up in a strict Christian home but now I am having touble believing that Christianity, or any religion for that matter, is real. I want proof, not "well because it's not", that it is or isn't real. If you are of a differen't religion please tell me what makes you believe and I don't work well with "faith" I want some PROOF. Thanks!

I still don't have proof just testimonies. When you are in a terrible place in life you look for something to get you out and make you feel better so you go with God. Then you work so hard to make things work out for you or others do and you give the credit to God. I don't believe it is God but just you and your mind.
And there are many stories of war in the old testement that God supported because they were his people.... why would he kill the enemy instead of showing himself to them...instead in one story he tricked an entire army into killing themselves! How is that rightous? They were his children too.

I have tried the "prove it to me God" stuff but how do I know that it is him!? I think it is all in the head....if you want it to be God it will be.

NO ONE is giving me any proof. I have found many contradictions in the bible with historical facts. And I don't want to hear the answers of you will feel it in you because you can make yourself "feel" however you want to without even knowing it! I am sick of hearing "it's God's plan" "things will work out" of course they will becuase one thing or another will happen...someone will die and someone will find the cure or things won't change people will just get used to them.... how is this God's doing?

I don't want to search the scriptures.... If I don't beleive they are true how is that going to prove anything to me? I need proof that it is true. Everything I have read is contradicted by science..... explain that please!

You know what you need to do. If you ask God to prove himself to you, he will. Sometimes it is right before our eyes and we don't see it. Sincerely ask God to prove himself. I am positive you will get an answer.

Well one thing to remember that the God Christians believe is a rightous AND loving God.
I can guarantee you research all the different religions and find something that will condradict their God being righteous.
So that is one thing to remember when researching different religions and even when you read the Bible. Just because some of the stories in the Bible might be a little violent, doesn't mean God was happy about it. He can't control what we do, all He can do is give us advice (The Bible) and we choose to take it or leave it.
I agree that most Christians today are followers for their own selfish reasons, but this shouldn't discourgae you from being a Christian. We all need to realize that nobody is perfect, and just because you are a Christian doesn't make you an better, actually it means just the oppostie.
Being a Christian means confessing you are not perfect and submitting to Gods will for your life, only because Father (God) knows best!

Should you need proof then you cannot be a believer but an unbeliever scince Jesus said that there can be no in between about this matter.Either you believe or you disbelieve.He stated that should one become warm or cold about their belief in Him and His Father then He would spue them from His mouth.
Yes there were battles fought by the Israelites in which people were killed. Yes God innundated the earth with a flood and wiped out almost the whole of humanity.WHY? Because those people were not following in the paths of righteousness and putting their faith in God but rather they were worshipping the ways of the devil.God is a jealous God as it states in the bible.I feel that if you have read the bible at all you either didn't understand it or you didn't want to gain the knowledge that it delivers to those that are true followers of God and His Son.SEARCH the SCRIPTURES it tells us in the bible.
Should you choose not to have your beliefs grounded upon God and His Son then you are not able to have eternal life with them,but eternal damnation in a place reserved for those that go against them and follow the devil into the realm of hell;misery loves company.

I'll be glad to give you proof when you can prove that we are in fact breathing in air. You can't see it, it doesn't have a taste, it doesn't have a smell.
You don't have to tangibly see something to believe in it. Christian is based on the Bible. If you look through the Bible from a critical perspective, you will find there are no contradictions in it.
You don't have to believe in something just because someone says so. You can make up your own mind. You are a big girl.

O.K. The proof will come within you. There are things that God wnats us to experience so we could become the person we need to be to carry out our purpose. Testimonies are proof. You will see. When you get to a position where no one can't help you but God. The best advice I can give you is this. Keep seeking him and trusting him. One day you will realize.

i can understand how you feel. it is so hard to believe in anything without proof. Most religions will tell you just to 'believe' or have 'faith'. But there is 1 religion which provides proofs. it encourages you to use your brain think for yourself and make your own decisions. its scripture has no flaws or contradictions, it has never been changed and is still in its original language in which it was revealed. Both of my parent had and alcohol and drug problem. My mother was very abusive and my father was gone all the time. My mother almost killed my younger sister and she is serving a seven year prison sentence for child abuse and neglect. Me and my siblings were placed in foster care and are all seperated.It has ruined our entire family.We never did anything wrong and were good kids This has been almost seven yrs. ago and we are still trying to get things back together. Both of my parents gave all four of us up for adoption and none of us are adopted yet. It has caused us to have major depression problems and problems with making relationships with other people and trusting them. I haven't spoken to any of my family in over six years except for my brother and sisters.
God saved me from that hell hole,that's how I know e-mail me to find out more.
