Leviticus 20: 7-14
"Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.
If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to daeth. He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head.
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife-with the wife of his neighbor-both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
If a man sleeps with his father's wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their heads.
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their heads."
It continues... what do y'all think about this????

I think that God is trying to instruct us on what to stay away from because He knows what sin can do to our life, and He loves us and wants us to be happy.
He doesn't want us to get hurt!
Imagine if people would just have sex with their own spouse then maybe, just maybe this world would be a much better place!
Sounds like God was talking to those who wish to live their lives any way they like and they deny the Lord and the Bible so they can keep sin forever in their life!
God Loves YOU

This Chapter is mostly based upon Growth and Sanctification.
To Set Apart!
Our position when we accepted Christ as Lord and Savior became as one set apart by God, having been called out of the world and placed in the body of Christ.1 Cor 12:12. To sanctify ourselves, we open to His nature and power, enabling us to follow the model of our holy God Lev.19:2. Thus consecrate yourselves is a command , not a suggestion or an option for the believer. Our call within Him promised grace directs us to desire to grow in our relationship to God. (1 John 2:12/1 Tim.3:16)K.U.
I think that we should always take serious God's commands and Quickly obey and not justify some actions we do with disobediance sacrifices, but know that it is not a choice what we should do, but what God requires of us as Children of God. Being Holy as he is Holy and set apart from the heathen/unsaved.

I think it's a great idea. Christ did not do away with this part of the law, -at least from what I can tell right now, with no real research.
But the Hebrews were a theocracy, or at least ruled by judges, and then by kings. If we were to have an island, ruled by Christians, then I'd help create a govn't with the rules above.
But being here in a near godless republic, we are not inclined to pursue these penalties.

The fact is, these acts are all sins in the eyes of God. We no longer punish those who commit them by death anymore because of the saving grace of Jesus Christ, but that does not mean we should condone it. Sin is sin. The moral aspect of the Law has not changed, just the civil.

Those are rules of God and because God saw that we aren't able to keep these rules He sent Jesus as a sacrifice for our misbehavior. For God is a Great and Forgiving God Ruler of Heaven and Earth.

Thank God I am not under the law and under Grace and that Jesus fulfilled the Law when he died on the cross.

I think if that first one about cursing your parents goes through, this'll be a pretty empty planet.
