lets see how creative and knolwegeble Cristians are . I want to know what was the real name of Jesus when he was a child. SO giving name of GOD from OLD testement won't work. At least since Cristians trying to follow Crist would not be right to call him by his real name and not translation?

Could the behaviours of the religious be considered a very mild form a Collective Hysteria? Does this apply when there is a frenzied, overly defense response from large numbers of Christians following a question posted by an atheist?

I heard (but not verified personally) that Susan Atkins (the Manson family murderer) has repented. Will she go to heaven and spend eternity with God's family?

Also, if Sharon Tate (one of the Manson family victims) had not repented by the time of her murder, is she now in Hell for eternal damnation?

Does anyone think that the Bible should be updated to modern times? Although it does outline many of the pivotal ideas of our society (ie not stealing, not killing others, etc), it also condones slavery, the degradation of women, and the wrongness of homosexuality. So should it be updated to fit modern times or not? And if so, what should change?

Ok.. I work like this.. All philosopy.. Philo(lating for the love of) Osophy(knowledge) Therefore Philosophy = knowledge. Not just any knowledge.. EMPIRICAL knowledge. That which is SELF EVIDENT. Don't bother answering this question with a you must believe crap. Add up all the facts and it is self evident that GOD exists!!! But how do you add up facts to find Jesus was who everyone thinks he was? Where's the EMPIRICAL knowledge in this. BIBLE? Don't bother... could have been written by anyone... I would LIKE to have a REAL FACTUAL answer.. Thank you all who respond to this with REAL answers...

A preacher was completing a temperance sermon: with great expression he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throwit into the river."

With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in theworld, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the
world, I'd take it and throw it into the river." He sat down.

The song leader then stood very cautiously and announced with a
smile, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn # 365:

"Shall We Gather at the River."

I think not. Information rich systems are developed by intelligence. God created heaven and earth. What is funny is that people are telling you what happened millions of years ago (evolution) and you buy into it! People forget what happened in the year 3 A.D. on June 23rd, much less millions of years ago. Peace! Have an awesome weekend everyone!

I hear people often say "He crammed the bible down my throught" or "beat me over the head with the Bible." Obviously this is a figure of speech. I'm interested in comments about this phrase and how people think it came in to being.

Christians have to be socially conservative and fight for a culture of life, that is against abortion, Euthanasia, embryonic stem-cell research, death penalty, In-vitro fertilization, divorce, unjust wars and other life issues.
Christians have to be liberal in economics and fight for social justice, the poor, the enviroment, healthcare, living wage for families, government aid for families, fair global market. oportunity for all people to work.
