sorry guys, it didn't sound so harsh in my head...i guess it sounded more harsh, i'm just saying that if u claim to be a Christian, u need to make sure u know wut u're talking about, cuz a lot of "Christians" r sounding a heck of a lot like ppl who have no clue about Christianity or have no interest, u're not supposed to blend in, u're supposed to stand out, that's all i'm sayin'

Yeah I know what you mean.

I've been in a Christian family all my life and I know a lot of things from the Bible; but, I would never proclaim that I know all of it.

It is so annoying when ppl start quoting only specific parts of the scripture... disregarding other parts or twisting the parts they are quoting.

Reminds me of one time I was asking this guy how come the woman has to take the man's name in here in the USA and he said, "That's in the Bible." LOL It isn't. I have no clue where ppl come up with some of this stuff.

No, the Bible is for tables with one leg that is 1.5 inches too short. Too much? Try the Koran...it's less than an inch. Need more? How about throwing in the Talmud or Torah?

I guess if your table is into having more than ONE short leg you'll need to use something like the Rig-Veda.

OK, seriously... you can't go around confusing a sacred text with a personal opinion. Even if one reads all of the texts...and believes them... it doesn't mean that they won't end up with a case of verbal diarrhea sometimes. Those that don't read and learn may tend to have such afflictions more frequently. Why let it bother you?

I used to be annoyed both by lefties stricken with secular humanism as well as the thumpers and their inability to cope with the hard realities of science. I learned that if I simply concentrated on improving myself and limiting my comparisons to the me of yesterday or last year, the antics of others don't bother me a bit.

Relax...

Yes, three and half times (now with a version that has been unchanged since the fourth century A.D.).
I'm not even religious. I love wisdom. And my relationship with God is very direct and personal.
I have also read the Koran, The Vedas, the Satanic Bible, the Book of Morman (two versions).
It's true that there is much that is nonsense, and more who lap it up. However, after a while they become more educated and learn the truth (whatever that is).
They learn responsibility and integrity, and if they stay here for any length of time, they learn to ask before they speak.

Any second year college student who has gotten "Cs" has learned that much, or they fail or drop out. Don't worry. There's more of us, than them, and they'll figure it out if we don't give up on them.

I know without a doubt that most who claim to be and are giving answers that are contradictory might not be, that is just the way it is on here. I have read the New Testament each year - every day - for the last three years. It only takes 5 minutes a day =) Before that I was reading the whole Bible each year - every day (it only takes 30 minutes a day). I think it is important to continue with it and me and my family will =) Blessings! And remember, we are told to love the sinner and hate the sin =)

lol ya I know what you mean but most of the time people don't understand the context of it. A lot of people bring up the leviticus rules. We obviously dont live by that time anymore, we also do have a justice system that resembles the principles of the Bible today! Anything that harms a person killing, cheating, gossiping, theft there are ramifications that we have to face.

Yes. but to truly read God's Word you must be led by The Holy Spirit.
For the non-believer, much of, what is in the Bible will be meaningless. it is not intended for the non-believer

I accept questions about the Christian Faith from all honest seekers

Years ago, I read the Bible on several occasions. However, I find that I no longer have the time to explore primitive mythes as much as I would like; so the Bible like many other mythic texts gathers dust in my library.

Neo_Darwin
Look, another KILL THE INFIDELS moron. Once again a supposed christian demonstrates the endless compassion of jesus. Why would a being that is obviously infinetly inteligent (it created the universe! that takes intelligence NO HUMAN has yet come close to) give its truth to only one group of people.
It's a LIE. God made the truth available to EVERYONE, you just have to look for it. If someone wants your money, or violence, they are a false prophet.

I read it. Right now... I'm reading Joshua. I'm brushing up on the Old Testament and reading more about the "Holy and Ceremonial laws". Also the "Vow of the Nazirite". Mostly about being Kosher though. Leviticus offers some crazy stuff.

Yay!
