does anybody know someone that reflects her attitude with her name? And if there's an incident that you have two friends with the same name, don't they have some similarities?

I just don't get it.
Why are some people so cruel, judgmental and just plain nasty? Why, when some are in a 'group' or 'couple' do they feel the need to criticize, judge and laugh at people? These are adults, people who should now better. It's like they have never grown up since playground teasing. What's wrong with these people? Do they just think they are better than everyone else? Is this just a 'syndrome' of British people, or is this a global thing? I swear, people are getting worse every day.
Please give your opinion, I'm losing faith in human nature!

. . .. . just believing what we believe and letting others do the same?

the morbidly curious side of me always makes me click on the "society and culture" link here in Y!A and all i see is people arguing....on sides that are pre-decided....along the lines of their 'contacts.' good points are consistently ignored in what i can only imagine is in the name of 'face-saving' and brutal stubbornness.

this is true for all questions, but aggravatingly true for the religion questions. i don't know. i'm just venting. i'd love anyone else's thoughts.

Like if Allah gave you your own private Island and told you that you can have as many husbands as you wished for and that no other woman will ever be able to have sex with them except for you. How many husbands would you ask for and would they all be one nationality? Or would they be from all national backgrounds?

especially at a young age and MOST especially people who do it in obvious places like their face, how can it NOT occur to you that somewhere down the road on life's journey, you might think-- "hey-- I don't want this thing on me anymore? Now that I have more sense, it looks pretty stupid". Never occur to you that people often, you know, "change" over the years?

I was getting waiting on the elevator when I heard a woman talking on her cell in English. When she entered the area where I and a couple other people were standing waiting for the elevator, she immediately switched to Spanish. I'm like, "Nobody give's a damn about your conversation!"

Was I wrong to get annoyed. I mean, if she was talking in Spanish the whole time, it would have been different. No prob.

And no, I don't have anything against Spanish-speaking people for those who are about to assume such.

I am thinking of rude & close minded political discourse, road rage, people buttting in line at grocery stores and leaving their cart in the line. "Me firstism". People letting doors slam on others etc... I am wondering if this is a symptom of societal rot from the inside out?

A friend of mine is a single mom with one daughter. Her older sister is a drug addict (years and years)- the drug addict sister had a baby and this friend took in the baby (out of love) because her sister could not care for her. This child is now in elementary school. The addict sister showed up again-pregnant with twin boys (infants) and was sent to jail. This friend now has taken THEM in also. She has nothing - except she does have some physical problems which doesn't help. She's a loving person and they need help bad. I have no money to help her. Where would you start if you wanted to help someone. Churches around here only seem to help their parishoners (from what I've gotten so far)....other than food pantries. SHE needs diapers, etc....the things you need with TWO BABIES......

My boyfriend is pretty intelligent, but has very little common sense, or street smarts. I'm kind of tired of looking after him and making sure he's ok. For example, he never pays attention to where he's going and is constantly lost. He knows how to get to where he's going, but just never pays attention to what he's doing. When he goes to the grocery store and uses the automated checkout lanes, he puts cash in but leaves his change. When I asked him about it, he acts like it's no big deal and says that he often times forgets to take his change.

I've asked him to start paying attention to what he's doing but he said that he's been living his life like this for 27 years and that's asking a lot. I wonder if he realizes that everyone he comes in contact with plays some type of role in watching out for him.

What should I do?

I can understand co-opting Western fashions to make oneself seem more part of the modern world and all, but doesn't anybody have the nerve to tell this guy that he's dressing completely inappropriately for a man of his station? Or is there some cultural taboo that I'm not aware of, that keeps Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from wearing a necktie?

Lets say some ppl are doing very bad things.
There isnt much ppl on ur side to help ya and support ya.The admin/Law isnt that helpful. And everything just doesnt seem to work out for ya
And even though it might not be legal but it is the right thing to do and it would make a huge difference to u and others. So would u take matters into ur own hands and do the right thing? Or u would be a coward and dont do anything , be treated like a dog and later on u would think that " i could had done something but i did not".
