In the "Bible" it states that Man/Woman was created in Gods image. So, does the "face of God" look like my neighbor Ralph?

I don't think its right for men/woman to say that God looks like us. Why can't God take the form of a different type of animal.

In fact, why does God have to look like anything at all?

Genesis of the Bible states "let us make man in our image" which would imply a spiritual rather than a physical image. However, there are many references of God's image such as walking in the cool of the evening in the Garden of Eden, having eyes which watch everything, etc. Christians believe in the resurrected Jesus as Lord, who told the doubting Thomas to touch him to see that he is "flesh and blood" (interesting to note he did not use the term bones). If your neighbor Ralph is a kind and loving person, he would be projecting some of God's image.

It is unknown, because Mose neither draw or describe God's image in the scripts, but he detailed God's names very careful.

Mose passed his words from God on other generations when he met the Creator. Mose might see or not see God physically in human image, and whether or not the way God appeared to Mose was the true image of God. Nobody else were physically allowed to see God with their bare eyes at Mt Sinai.

The covenant ark is not big enough either to contain a good size of human plus the stone tablets of 10 Commanments and it’s always concealed and covered with clothe skin. People from the beginning used to call the invisible God of Israel, and no images were allowed to bow down although they might see God appearing with a very big human image in prophetic visions as the way of communication.

I think this statement in the bible was their way of trying to make humans sound more important. God had to have made us in his image. How do any of us really know? Noone knows the mysteries of God. We can try all we want but we will not know anything until we pass on.

To me God could be anything I imagine God could be. I don't have an image in my mind of what God looks like as God doesn't look like anything. To me God is absolute unconditional love. We as feeble humans can try to put a face to that. Remember all the stories in the bible are just that. Stories to tell a message received from God but in our own way of understanding. Remember the old game of telephone line when you were a kid. The message always got garbled by the end. I think it is the same with the bible. The core teachings of how to be a decent human and God's love for us I agree with but as far as God looking like us or acting like us, such as starting wars in his name and other silly things such as God deciding to kill off people by drowning them in a flood, that is where humans have put their mark on what they think God meant.

What if God really just wants us all to relax and have some pizza and ice cream?

hahahaha!!! No, I hope not. "Image" refers to God's character and not a physical representation of Him. His "Image" is not what He looks like but what we know about Him. Being made in God's Image means that we should live by God's rules and display His loving character to other people.

The statement that man was made in God's image was invented by man. In any case, if it were true, it would only be the image that God projected into man's consciousness, one that man could recognise and was comfortable with.

It could be a reference to our level of intelligence, or the fact that we are self aware, or even just the fact that we have a soul.
