Besides the unknown, what makes things scary? Vampires are scary. Dracula in general. Werewolves.
Death is scary because it's unknown.
But what makes certain things scary?
I know it's a HUGE question, but I'm looking for some interesting results. Nothing stupid, please!
Thanks all!

anyways do you think these people should be rewarded equally for their hard work?

J: She is a young woman from a big city who is a successful businesswoman working for a public relations company and she is a wealthy businesswoman, she owns a condo overlooking a huge lake and she owns lots of nice clothes, gets to go on nice vacations, owns lots of nice furniture, owns a nice sporty car w/leather interior and she gets to attend to alot of rock concerts.

D: He is a young man from a small town who is an employee at a department store and he has been at his job for 8 years and he only makes $8.50 an hour, he is one of the most dependable employees Shopko has ever had and he is very kind and helpful towards his customers and his co-workers and he gets along well with everybody, plus he has a learning disability, he doesn't have a car and he still lives at home with his parents.

Also which rewards do you like better?

Okay, so here's the deal.

My boss and I have to write text that goes on a major website. He had pitched the idea of using the phrase "just desserts," but I had no idea what it meant (I had never heard of the term before in my life).

I began taking a poll with coworkers, and it seemed that slightly more people knew what it meant than didn't. At first, I guessed it was an age thing/phrase used at an earlier time (I am 24, my boss is mid-thirties), but then figured it might be a regional thing (I'm from Texas, he's lived in California for over 10 years).

So answer me this question: Have you heard the term "just desserts," and if you have, where did you hear it, where are you from, and how old are you?

Thanks!

My personal opinion is that we are far too easy going. I remember when I was young that if we got out of hand, the police could give us a clip round the ear and take us home where we got a hiding ! I think that the police need to take a more harder line and I also think that we ought to look at BOOT CAMPS for offenders. The police do nothing. They do not go into areas where there is heavy youth crime ? Gangs need to be stamped out. It's not only the police but the law in general. I am looking forward to hearing other peeps views on this. I wonder how many thumbs down I get lol.

why are people so hung up on looks, what they eat...etc....If I want to pig out on really "bad for you" food, I will! If I want to dress like a slob I WILL....life is short...as long as you aren't hurting anyone else, why not live it up?

Today is my last day of work and I don't want to shake my boss's hand on my way out the door. Please do not reply with jokes. Let me know if you can think of a professional way that when he asks, I can not have to shake his hand. What can I say to explain?

in my house. Do I need a contract with the person to sign they cannot go into my house ONLY upstairs to theirs only? That they cannot drink or smoke or play loud music at all? What kind of contract do I need, and where do I get one and how much are they? Also, It will be month to month rent payment, so that way, Heaven forbid, they can't pay I can ask for them to find another location.

I live in California. Any advice helpful.

Your child has a kidney infection and will die if he does not get a new set of them and your wife / husband has a kidney infection and will die if she does not get set of them. Your Kidneys are the only known set that can cure either your spouse or your child's disease. You only have one set of kidneys to donate.

Would you donate your kidney's to your spouse and let your child die?

Would you donate your kidney's to your child and let your spouse die?

Would you not donate your kidneys, let your child and spouse die, and yourself live?

If you do not have both children and spouse give an answer based on if you did have children and a spouse or what you think people in this hypothetical situation should do.

New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury says "I think, you know, we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors." http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-marbury-vick&prov=ap&type=lgns

what kind of a sick twist would get their rocks off by watching animals maul one another?

would Marbury feel the same if they tortured and killed him for not performing to NBA and audience expectations?

also, when people hunt, the animals are in the wild and they are not bred to be pit against another animal for entertainmment and gambling purposes. i realize that some people may say that this is what our sports are about today, entertainment & gambling. but we don't torture or kill our athletes for a bad game nor do we use "bait", which dies in the process of testing their abilities.

I have no sympathy for sick vick.

Years before I married, I was introduced to group sex, and I fell in love! Can't describe enough how incredibly attracted I am to that! Have a wonderful relationship with my wife, and have asked her to let me watch her with another man. She says she needs more time to think about it, and this same answer has been repeated for a year. How should I coax her? Should I pressure her? I am confident that she would do this if I put her in the situation without asking, but I want her verbal approval on this first! We talk, and sometimes she "thinks" she will try this at least once, but other days she is not ready, or not sure. And I tell her many times it is okay to simply say no, never, but she says she is not opposed to it at this time, just not sure if she can go through with it. But no progress has been made for a year now, and I am getting very anxious with the "maybe" answer. I want a definite yes or no! What do I do?

Ok.. let me explain since I guess I gave too many people too much credit for intelligence the last time I asked this question...

In hunting you kill the animal quickly and eat it. If you ever had a hamburger or a steak - you are somewhat responsible for killing an animal, but it wasn't for not because you ate it for nourishment - circle of life. Get over it.

OK.. ya following?

In Dog fighting the animals are forced fo fight for thier lives, while people place bets. When the fight is over, the losing dog, while in excruciating pain, is later killed, in most cases inhumainly) and disposed of. Basically a waste of a life ended brutally for entertainment and money...

How are these comparable? - no high horses for supposed "animal activists" if your shoes are leather or if you ever ate a hamburger, I don't want to hear about how you think hunting is wrong...
