New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury says "I think, you know, we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors." http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-marbury-vick&prov=ap&type=lgns

what kind of a sick twist would get their rocks off by watching animals maul one another?

would Marbury feel the same if they tortured and killed him for not performing to NBA and audience expectations?

also, when people hunt, the animals are in the wild and they are not bred to be pit against another animal for entertainmment and gambling purposes. i realize that some people may say that this is what our sports are about today, entertainment & gambling. but we don't torture or kill our athletes for a bad game nor do we use "bait", which dies in the process of testing their abilities.

I have no sympathy for sick vick.

Spanish people are bringing it here. In my opinion they are the one breed of people who like things bloody. They have no respect or regard for life, it's joyful to them to watch people and animals alike being ripped apart. They choose knives over guns because it's messier.
The neighborhood I live in (all spanish) says it's Tradition to gamble at pit-bull fights and rooster-fights.

As an American this is one reason I am made to feel Racist ways. We are much more humane here and I don't want that sh*t in my country. Christmas is traditional, Thanksgiving is traditional, ya know happy things! What the h*ll is traditional and happy about watching something fight for it's life until it's dead. You just sit there and watch it die? Am I to believe they bury these animals?
How do we get their traditions OUT? It's making America an ugly country, what happened to our beliefs and our rights?

Its odd that its alright to race horses, beat and whip them to go faster, all the while betting on them. Then if they get injured or can't win they are killed.

Any animal classified livestock can be sliced up while still alive, starved, held in small pens their whole life, and be generally mistreated and its all legal because it is considered ordinary farming practises and is expressly exempted from the animal cruelty statutes.

If you really wanna get upset at what is considered legal or is not enforced take a visit to a puppy mill in Lancaster, pa and see what a dog farm looks like. Not pleasant you will see dogs missing legs because they live in elevated wire cages and sometimes the leg will get stuck in the wire and get blood cut off to it.

Problem is commercialism of animals causes their exploitation and mistreatment, but if enough money is in it, society and lawmakers are content to look the other way.

The sport of hunting wild game is to find FOOD to eat. I know there are some that hunt for trophies, but mostly it's for food consumption. There is no mauling and torture done for pleasure or financial gain. The can be no comparison between the two. Good luck. 2D

first off: Hunting is a sport and is a natural process. all predators hunt. see that tooth 3rd from the middle? Its a canine and is used for tearing flesh. some people choose to enjoy a pastime that their ancestors were forced to to. Hunting is heavily regulated and offers a different meat than what you can buy.

the answer to ur question is very simple. The african race is a very violent one. Every race has examples of violence, but only the black one seems to condone senseless murder. Other races kill for land, water, or security, stuff that is neeeded for survival. blacks kill for pride or to appear 'hard'. Deion sanders, clinton portis, stephon marbury, the naacp, the girl on this message board, what do they all have in common? How many whites have come out publicly to support vick? Fact : blacks are 9 times MORE likely to commit homicide in america. Fact: although representing only 12% of the population, blacks are 50% of murder victims. This is not racism. I am not saying that just because u are black u are a murderer. Im not saying that all murderers are black either. there are killers on both sides of the spectrum. But the black community accepts violence, and tolerates it, much more than hispanic, asian or white races. In a blck community, killers are seen as hard, badasses, stone cold killers. in white or asian communities, killers are seen as monsters and are destroyed to prevent them from acting again.

i have had 2 pit bulls that were family pets and great ones, they did come from fighting stock but were never fought, bloodlines went back over 100 years and they were awesome dogs and members of our family, i think dog fighting is stupid, and my dogs hated other dogs, its in their nature, i have no sympathy because its people like that that bring a bad name to the great breed
