If so, why do Americans seem to be totally ignorant about the rest of the world such as where countries are located and what great contributions other countries have made to the world even before the USA existed.

I have been in the military for the past five years. Its been more than once that I mentioned something that I, or another friend of mine, might have seen in Iraq or in other military situations. That the average person who has never seen military service disputes, because they saw a skewed version on the news. I mean, I have had people argue with me over something they have no knowlage about. Thanks.

I am referring to a sellout in a minority community. What makes Colin Powell, Mary Cheney, and others sellouts to their communities? I really dont believe in sellouts just difference of opinions, but if someone can persuade me otherwise that would be fine.

I'm not talking about the "bed ridden" who obviously have health issues way beyond control (and that shouldn't be a sin either, it's a cry for help). I am talking about generally healthy people who can live, work and play pretty much as normally as most people do, they just wear plus size clothing and look different than what we see in the media.

I need some help. I want to know what NASA does for the average American that's so beneficial. They are funded by the governemnt as far as I know and I think it's a huge waste of taxpayer's money. Please don't misunderstand me. I love space and I have ALWAYS been fascinated by it. But for a bunch of so-called genius astrophysicists to sit around and get paid all kinds of money when they can barely send people up to space and bring them back witout killing them is just insane to me. Let's not even talk about the fact that the space crafts break apart on take off and have to be repaired before the astronauts come back or all the "space junk" that's been launched and is having adverse effects in space.
Someone help! What is the point of NASA...can't we do without it and put the money towards something better like hunger and homelessness? It's expensive and we need to worry about taking care of planet Earth more than anything.

Now, Howard U. is blaming black womens' breast cancer on racial discrimination (It brings on stress that results in the cancer). To me, this shows how far people can go in using the race card. On the bright side, I suppose that, as a white male, I'll be able to blame my eventual prostrate cancer on the stress brought on by affirmative action.

I am African-American I am in school working on a computer networking degree right now, even though I don't look, dress, act, or talk like a stereotype some people may think of, my friends always insist on making racist jokes. It gets EXTREMELY irritating. I have even gone as far as pulling one of them aside and saying come on man can you guys go easy on that. And as ALL men know asking guys to stop making fun of you will only lead to worse things. I understand its all comedy but even when I try to make a joke back (which I don't enjoy doing) they take it personally, and get angry. What should I do??!!

Why aren't people educated in school about sex, birth control and pregnancy etc? It astonishes me how few people know about this stuff particularly on YA. A moment ago a woman asked could she be pregnant even though her boyfriend 'pulls out'. I thought everyone had the common sense to know that doesn't work.

Are religious groups in America stopping schools from educating their students? Or are the schools not doing their job?

How many of you zoom into questions relating to sex or physical union or something of that sort. My guess is everyone has a prurient interest in it, but can't say it outright or show their interest openly. Males are more honest about it, I think. What say you?
