I have been in the military for the past five years. Its been more than once that I mentioned something that I, or another friend of mine, might have seen in Iraq or in other military situations. That the average person who has never seen military service disputes, because they saw a skewed version on the news. I mean, I have had people argue with me over something they have no knowlage about. Thanks.

that sucks. people can be very ignorant and stubborn in their viewpoints, whether or not they have any validity to their points.

thank you for your service to this country.

i'm a military wife and my husband was at a concert during his TDY with one of his troops and the guy went to go talk to some girl he thought was hot but she said she didn't date baby killers.

i couldn't believe anyone in this generation used that term. needless to say, they left the bar as it was a pretty popular way of thinking there.

i don't watch tv; and this is one of the reasons.

God bless you.

One has to hand it to the media for brain-washing a whole host of Americans into believing what pops up on the tube. I do not know who is worse the media or a politician running for office.

Pretty pathetic isn't it. Since the media doesn't want to show them what's really going on over there (the mainstream media that is) and they've been conditioned to believe the US tv news is the end all in information, it doesn't surprise me that they argue with you. Thanks for your service by the way.

because the media is what people see/hear most often. military personnel don't have a way to communicate with the general public, so not many people hear what they have to say.

Remember that these are the same people who elected an AWOL ex-Guardsman and a draft-dodger to the Presidency and Vice-Presidency respectively -twice I might add!
