I am about to make a 7 hour drive following some other people because I have no idea how to get to where we are going. To top it all off I have two small children I am taking with me. I just always get worried that they will get to far ahead of me and I will lose them and be lost. Does anyone else ever feel this way? Anything I can do to feel better about it?

Who in here has noticed that the 'best answer' chosen by asker isn't necessarily the correct answer?
I know flippant answers are fun, but occasionally someone will post a question looking for a legitimate answer.
Or are they really looking for confirmation of what they already think? Whether it is correct or not?
The answer to this question will of course be more philisophical/opinionated.
Or are we just looking for points for answering?

I need something important for my research from a colleague. They recently suffered the loss of a parent. What I need has nothing to do with their research, but before the loss, they were helping me as a favor. Now, I don't want to seem selfish, but I would like to express urgency while still remaining empathetic. Any suggestions?

This is quite a serious question.....I have just started a new job and all the girls-women i work with are loud, brassy, rude, foul mouthed and to be honest the type of people i would avoid like the plague...I really want to keep this job but feel uncomfortable around them. I'm not saying i'm better than they are, just different...i've just been myself, i'm NOT a snob, but i've been brought up with a high standard of what 'i see' as 'right and wrong'..politeness and manners...i know they think of me as a snob...why should i be made to feel as though i'm the one in the wrong, how do i get over it!!??

We are all in this world together and yes we live differently. And NO ONE is perfect NO MATTER what color your skin is. I am white and my boyfriend is Puerto Rican. some people frown on that. I don't look at him as a Puerto Rican, I look at him as a man, my boyfriend. WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?????

regardless of how a question is phrased, if it involves race, people get all bent out of shape. {i am not referring to only my previous questions, but other ones i have seen as well.} why is it considered so wrong to talk about race?

Does anyone have any statistics on how many packages (or letters) the United States Postal Service looses (i.e. does not deliver)?

Three weeks ago I returned a book to an Amazon Marketplace seller via Media Mail. They claim to have not received it. According to usps.com the book should have arrived within 4-6 days. So either the seller is lying about not receiving the return (or lost it somehow) or USPS never delivered it. I am positive the address was correct and the proper postage was affixed to the package.

My assumption is the percentage of lost packages is very low (< 1%), but I have nothing to backup this theory.
