This is a good question!

There are many disadvantages, from what I can see.

In India, with almost a billion people, street cleaning trucks use precious fossil fuels while the men who used to clean the streets with brooms go unemployed.

In Japan, people in nursing homes are washed in human 'washing machines' like a touchless car wash, and get no human contact. Fewer attendants are employed, also.

Robotic pets, housecleaners, and other social monstrosities are on the immediate horizon, rendering living things as expendable even for affection and close contact.

When society's leaders no longer need anything from other humans, we're all in trouble.

That will never happen due to the fact that machines are made by humans and humans make errors. There will always be a need for humans to fix the machines when they break down. Thank you.

Well, employers might layoff human employees for cheaper robots. Robots could become selfaware and view humans as a threat, it could start a global war--man vs. machine
