I am about to make a 7 hour drive following some other people because I have no idea how to get to where we are going. To top it all off I have two small children I am taking with me. I just always get worried that they will get to far ahead of me and I will lose them and be lost. Does anyone else ever feel this way? Anything I can do to feel better about it?

Yeah--I can't stand that. It even turns into laughing at you when the idiots you are following lose you or slice across traffic to make the exit they forgot to look for until they are about to pass it.

I also don't get directions from people--they always forget something. I get an address we are headed to, and mapquest it. This is what you gotta do. Then you can follow them without worry--if they lose you, you'll find them.

Yes! And it almost led to disaster once when a large garbage truck separate me and the person I was trying to follow in the rain, rather close to the exit.

Here's what you do: get the address of the destination, and load up driving directions from mapquest.com . That way, if you become separated, you have a back-up plan.

AND/OR make sure you and your friend have cell phones for just such an emergency, AND/OR talk in general terms about where you're going, so that if you get separated you at least could keep going in the right direction until you catch up.

U could use ur intuition when following other people....but don't be totally dependent on them. U will feel out of control then. And that's not good. Why don't you print a map? Also, never hesitate to ask for directions. I am terrible with directions...I am used to asking people on the way...or getting down and asking in stores etc. And make sure ur cell phone is charged, there is plenty of food n water, and u have some numbers to call incase of question or emergency.

Yes i have felt this way, you need to get some good walkie talkies that range up to three miles so that if you lose somone you are following you can tell them to wait for you or ask them were they are. Dont get too stressed out while driving because it can be dangerous. Or just get a Tom Tom GPS.
