The '40s had the war.
The '50s had business men and housewives (and rock n roll!)
The '60s had Haight and Ashbury.
The '70s had the feminist movement (as well as some disco!)
The '80s had women in powersuits and everyone working out.
The '90s had the real birth of the Internet (and some Nirvana)

What do you think 2000-2010 will have as its real legacy?

I have to ask, if equality is the popular thing right now for kids in high school, how come every time I see a cheerleader squad, it's always the fat and or ugly girl wearing the mascot outfit? Shouldn't they take turns or something?

One day I didn't wash my hair and he was kind of hovering over me to see if I was doing my work. I think he smelled my hair and ever since then he doesn't look at me talk to me nothing :-(

Me and my GF ( whom I care for a lot) go to the same artist gathering night every week. I am a very friendly person, I talk to a lot of different people there not just ladies. Why does my GF's friend always point out the fact that OOOHHH I am talking to another lady and that my GF better watch out!??!?!? Am I being disrespectful by talking to other ladies when we are out together?? Or is my GF's friend just trying to cause trouble?!?!? If so why ??

Why not move aside a little to let people through? Why does this happen? "Oh no, right now there is only you...I'll wait...I have no place to be right now. I'm here for you" (Not necessarily "YOU" of course...if you don't do this).

I keep seeing this and it blows my mind. Do you see this also? Does it bother you?

No offence meant to anyone, but is there anyone else out there who hates dealing with people who's first language is not English when you are looking for help? I have called my ISP a few times for help with things, and every time I get a person with such a thick accent that I cant understand them! I don't know what I am doing in the first place (why I called them in the beginning) and then to have to deal with someone I cant understand too? I think that all languages should be welcome in the US, but NOT in customer service and help positions. What do you all think??

we have people around who had some of the same powers as in biblical times i.e. Moses parting the Red Sea, pregnant virgins etc. Why do we have free will and yet people die tragic, unplanned deaths? Is God so cruel? So someone ate an apple. Talk about holding a grudge. Is there no forgiveness? Why are children allowed to suffer and the impoverished allowed to starve. Is there no mercy. Couldn't god leave one guy here to make bread, fish and wine? All religion can offer are fables and answers that go in circles. They cover their tracks by believing in the past and relying on ancient (and often updated) biblical writings. The 100 acre woods probably existed, Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin may have been very real characters that the author wrote about and there are some good lessons to learn form those stories but I don't believe a bear walks throught the woods talking to Owls, Rabbits and a Donkey any more than I believe an ark was built with 2 of everything on board.

Controversy paper need more positive ideas for cloning humans.?
OKay okay I know many of you probably think cloning is bad and have 101 reasons why it should not be done. I have that part of the paper done. However I need more ideas on how cloning (for the purpose of a human) would benefit society. Anything no matter how small why would it be good to clone people? Please I know all the negative theories and thoughts already I need to make my paper equally strong on both sides regardless of your or my thoughts and this topic was provided to me I did not get to select it. So please I need some benefits of cloning people. Thank you any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the input amy but if we brought back einstein which we couldnt because we do not have one of his "living cells" but he would not be einstein. He would have the same genetic make-up and would look the same but he may never be interested or open up a science book so that does not
