According to Reuters, a Texas lawmaker wants to make it legal for blind people to hunt any animal that a sighted person can hunt. It requires them to have a sighted hunter and they can use laser sights. Your thoughts?

Yes I think it's a bad idea...Look at Dick Cheney, he can see and shot someone.

Lots of accident waiting to happen. But the person with the sight is taking the biggest chance. If the blind person accidentally shot someone is he guilty or is it the sighted person guilty by association? Thinking about it a little more, there is a difference between being totaly blind and legaly blind. Still, as every good, safe hunter knows you must be absolutely sure of your target before you pull the trigger.

Well, it's not like seeing people have an amazing track record with hunting. If anyone gets shot in the face, well, that's nothing new.

bad idea.!!!! Texas. i think that is a horrible idea. can someone seriously say that is a good idea. how can they say it with a strait face? lets give people who cannot see, a gun! and who would be brave enough to take a blind person hunting?

I can understand where the problems might be with this idea. However, if it is done like it is set up to be done there should be few problems. Go ahead do it and a few people will die, then you can change it.

As long as there are adaquate precautions, what harm is there? I really don't care who hunts what, I have important things to deal with... like my life! =)

kinda stupid since the person hunting cant even see what there hunting... they could end up shooting the person they have with them or injuring someone elts
