Why Don't...?

we have people around who had some of the same powers as in biblical times i.e. Moses parting the Red Sea, pregnant virgins etc. Why do we have free will and yet people die tragic, unplanned deaths? Is God so cruel? So someone ate an apple. Talk about holding a grudge. Is there no forgiveness? Why are children allowed to suffer and the impoverished allowed to starve. Is there no mercy. Couldn't god leave one guy here to make bread, fish and wine? All religion can offer are fables and answers that go in circles. They cover their tracks by believing in the past and relying on ancient (and often updated) biblical writings. The 100 acre woods probably existed, Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin may have been very real characters that the author wrote about and there are some good lessons to learn form those stories but I don't believe a bear walks throught the woods talking to Owls, Rabbits and a Donkey any more than I believe an ark was built with 2 of everything on board.

We have the ability to choose and question. If God gave us all of these talents then surely he would not hold that against us...but then again there is that apple incident.

you need to understand one thing and it will sum it up and that is we were all born in sin yes even the marreid couples who had kids after they were married those kids to were born in sin and we will all die in sin no one is perfect and when you speak on GOD you should know your facts to the fulliest GOD is a mercyful GOD we have to go through in order to overcome if we didnt then that would label us as perfect GOD even controls satin when we allow satin not GOD but us the humans allow satin to enter in our play ground GOD gives us the power to rebuke the satin some people obviously feel like you if GOD is........then why is this happening to me? that question that you tend to ask its a test of our faith GOD says not to steal some folks feel like while in the grocery store to eat a few grapes isnt a sin we should all no that there is no sin that is greater do we say GOD forgive me i ate a few grapes or do we continue on each time we go to the store to sample oh just a few? my point is well rested in your head for the day

We do have people with special gifts. But they're not Jesus or a prophet so they are faced with attempted discrediting or they just hide their powers because they would be traveling with a circus or something.
Look at Sylvia Browne. A person with extroardinary powers and uses it to help others in every way she can, and yet others say she's faking it and it's not natural and it is against God when she firmly believes in God.
And we don't have to all believe in the same thing to know extraordinary things happen.

we have the written word today. in biblical times they only had a few scrolls and they wernt accesable to everyone so God used miricles to teach and to get people to believe. the world today is not ruled by God but by the devil (he offer Jesus the kindoms the world, if they werent his to offer Jesus would have called him on it). The devil chalenged God saying humans only serve him because of the things he gives them so God said people who serve him do so out of faith and devotion. Now we are being tested not by God but by the devil, he wishes to prove God a liar. God promises those who remain faithful will enjoy the new heavans and new earth. The key is we have to remain faithful and prove the devil a liar. If you believe the Bible examples are fables theres nothing i can do that will change your mind, but before you negate the story of the flood here are some facts.

1. almost every culture believes in a world devistating flood (kinda strange if they not have all the same back ground)

2. investigators have said that, had there been as few as 43 “kinds” of mammals, 74 “kinds” of birds, and 10 “kinds” of reptiles in the ark, they could have produced the variety of species known today. Others have been more liberal in estimating that 72 “kinds” of quadrupeds and less than 200 bird “kinds” were all that were required. That the great variety of animal life known today could have come from inbreeding within so few “kinds” following the Flood is proved by the endless variety of humankind—short, tall, fat, thin, with countless variations in the color of hair, eyes, and skin—all of whom sprang from the one family of Noah.
These estimates may seem too restrictive to some, especially since such sources as The Encyclopedia Americana indicate that there are upwards of 1,300,000 species of animals. (1977, Vol. 1, pp. 859-873) However, over 60 percent of these are insects. Breaking these figures down further, of the 24,000 amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, 10,000 are birds, 9,000 are reptiles and amphibians, many of which could have survived outside the ark, and only 5,000 are mammals, including whales and porpoises, which would have also remained outside the ark. Other researchers estimate that there are only about 290 species of land mammals larger than sheep and about 1,360 smaller than rats. (The Deluge Story in Stone, by B. C. Nelson, 1949, p. 156; The Flood in the Light of the Bible, Geology, and Archaeology, by A. M. Rehwinkel, 1957, p. 69) So, even if estimates are based on these expanded figures, the ark could easily have accommodated a pair of all these animals.

3. Remains of mamoths have been found with undigested food in thier stomaches and still unchewed food in thier mouths indicating a sudden distruction.

well you see our bodies had to prepare it self to carry and deliver so the only thing he did was gave power to woman to give birth, now how bad was that.
