Well, 2 questions actually- hope you don't feel cheated. The first is, which martial art would (in your opinion) best suit me? I am a smaller, leaner guy (about 5' 10", 160lbs or 12 stones). I used to box for a short while before the club had to shut down, and I was always a bit of a brawler on the rugby pitch. Which of the martial arts would best suit and up-close-and-personal brawling style, as opposed to lots of high kicks and gymnasticically orientated movement?

Also, a question of experience: have you ever witnessed (or been invoved in) a fight where 1 person is up against 4 or so opponents? In your experience if the guy on his own flors one opponent (no weapons involved), do the other 3 tend to bottle out, Hollywood style, or do they just get even more aggressive and all pile in for the kill?

Thanks guys! Serious answers noly please!

PS a friend recommened something called 'Krav Maga' (I think) to me- would this worthwhile pursuing? All I know is it's Israeli!

Only 2 members are consistentantly active if you count me.

I've tried delegating, allowing members to volunteer for assignments, picking partners for them to work along with, allowing members to pick partners or work alone, suggestion meetings in which everyone is free to talk ... EVERYTHING!

The members' hearts are in the right place, but when I have volunteers for certain tasks; 95% of the time they never follow through. HQ has even assigned tasks for our group (of about 35), same results.

Help! I'm exhausted!

I can understand wanting to be like an isol, but why Hitler? shouldnt they be smart enough to know that, however smart HItler really was(pretty smart!), he had huge flaws like wanting to take the world over without stealth, economic leverage, and all at once.

Almost everyone that I know personally (Shreveport) is a funtional drug addict. I am not glorifying it, but there really are SO MANY!! I know a bank manager that is adicted to Oxycontin, I know a registered nurse that smokes like Snoop Dogg. I know a construction foreman that is addicted to Xanex. The list goes on and on. I dispatch 18 wheelers and I smoke before work and at lunch. All of these people are well dressed and well rounded and they hide their addictions to anyone in their "day" lives. My question is, do you know a lot of people like this or are you even aware of how many young, college grads, are on serious drugs?

Israel killed so many in children in Qana and in other cities in lebanon. How come americans claim to respect human rights and turn such a blind eye to the killing of innocent civilians by Israel?

In fact many americans were cheering Israel on and were glad to see Lebanese civilians die. Why the double standard?

Duncan
Paul
Mike
Adam
Jon

My money is on Paul but who do you think?

If a person appears "clean cut", works a responsible job, raisies a happy family, and just has a good personality overall, is it acceptable for their vice to be weed smoking?? I am not talking about the 15 year old punk smoking to get attention or the 30 year old loser in his Mom's basement. I contribute to society in a very positive way, but I just have to smoke everyday. What do you think?

I don't understand this. Africa is full of famine, pestilance and starvation. Many people can't afford to even have one child yet they breed like crazy and end up having 10. If they can't afford them, then why bring em into this world. Also, why do they expect the West to provide aid to them, why doesn't the government stop being so corrupt or the people raise up and take over. I don't think we should aid anyone that doesn't show a sign of change.

One of the things that irritates me about Yahoo answers is that, all too often, people asking questions have already made their minds up about the answer and simply pick the one that agrees with their own opinion, rather than taking on board new knowledge. If people have already made their minds up, why do they come here to ask the question?

Then there's that 'voting' thing that happens to unresolved questions. Time and again I see answers being selected by majority vote that are a load of old tosh. Then everyone who voted for the answer can congratulate themselves that they were 'right'.

Democracy is a great thing for turning people's opinions into policy, but opinons and facts are not the same thing. I'm not against relativism but when people take this too far they wind up saying things like 'Such-and-such is just a theory, and why shouldn't my theory be just as good?' as if all theories should be considered equals.

Does Yahoo! Answers encourage this kind of woolly thinking?
