I'm British, just about to graduate (hopefully) from University and I want to emigrate to the US and start work there as a professional with (eventually) full citizenship.

My question is A) do I already have to be in work to move to the US (or have been offered a job)?

And B) realistically is there any particular area I really should avoid because of particularly violent crime/ natural disasters etc etc?

Thanks!

What is it that makes some people want to get up and go each day? Is there some way to find out what could motivate a person?

OK I asked this question in the sports section and it didn't get much response, so here goes!

OK in the UK you can own a pump-action shotgun for sporting purposes, as long as it is restricted to only being able to hold two shells plus a chambered shell.

A friend told me (as I am about to start clay pigeon shooting) that buying such a shotgun is actually recommended for beginners as opposed to the traditional over-and-under...what do you think?

People just get irritated waiting in lines, waiting in traffic, waiting for food, waiting for yahoo answers to come back up, waiting for their internet connection....why can't people enjoy this short down time that we get in our hecktic, busy, multi-tasking lives? "stop and smell the roses"

What is the southern perception of northerners? Personally, I am from NY and when I am in the south most people act kind of weird around me.
