One night around 4:30 am, I woke up to see a tall figure standing next to the side of my bed dressed in a long white robe with a type of blue tie around its neck hanging down, that just stood there very still, and I turned to see where my German Shepherd was, and he was laying at the bottom of the be sound asleep on his back to no clue to what was there. I looked back beside my bed, and it was STILL standing there, by this time, I was certainly scared, but couldnt take my eyes off of it. Finally, after another couple of minutes, it moved slowly off toward my lamp by the wall, and suddenly just dissapeared into thin air before my eyes. What could this have been? And I wasnt drinking, I was dead sober! Help!

I was in a large store looking at cards. I felt someone staring at me so I turned and looked. These two women with horrible identical faces were staring at me and grinning. I was severely frightened and immediately thought they were "witches", even though I know witches (wiccans) and they are very nice people. I was so frightened I dropped my cards on the floor and left the store. Can anyone tell me what they were?

Only 'I' know that 'I' exist. You only exist in the existence of my thought. 'I' only exist in the thought of existence. Only thought exists. Therefore, "i think therefore i am"(to use the thought of Descartes) (and from where his thought was attributed). this can be broken down to: 'I think', as existence only exists in thought. This can then be broken down to 'I' or 'think'. Or, are 'I' and 'think' inseperable?

"if a tree falls and noone is there to hear it fall, does it make a noise" please dont answer this directly as it was never intended as a question, but do consider it. please dont answer it directly!

Is the devil really a great teacher? I would like to learn to play the sitar or the bag pipes and was wondering if I should employ him as my tutor.

My first date with my current boyfriend was at a park. As I was exciting the camp area...after dark....I slamed on my breaks as a owl was in the middle of the road. The Owl looked at me....then took its prey (a small rodent of some sort) and flew away.

Not that it really matters...but I was wondering what kind of signs could and owl represent??? Could it be something about my boyfriends and I relationship--we are in love now and have been together for over a year...with zero fights?
Or, could it just be something about my life? It felt like some good sign at the time though.

If it helps....I live in the pacific northwest....I don't know what kinds of owls are native here. And the face was white....with brownish white on its body.

Thanks!!

How old were you when someone told you that there wasn't really a Santa? Who told you and how did they tell you? I was 8 and my mom told me that because I was bad I had killed him. Talk about devastation.

Okay, first this is a hard thing to ask. So here I go. A family member, whom is very close to me went through a spritual enlightenment a few months back. It was kind of scary because this person also claimed that spirits, mostly deceased family members where appearing to her and speaking with her. None of them have harmed her or any one else. "They" just talk amongst one another as if they were still apart of the living. Well, I guess the question is...should I believe in her? or should I seek professional help for her? I have been praying to the lord to see me through this, but I wanted someone elses point of view.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions. or words of comfort.

In Poland and Lithuania (and other countries, I'm sure), it is customary to wish a person 'good dreams' when they spend a night in a new place. I guess it's just superstition, but I'm interested to know what gave rise to it. What is the reason for remembering the dreams? What, if anything, are the dreams supposed to reveal? What happens if you don't remember your dreams, or if they seem to be the usual recurring /anxiety dreams that you have? Or easily explainable by the people, events, etc in your life? Is there any 'punishment' for not remembering? Where does this custom come from? Which other countries have the same custom?
