Is the devil really a great teacher? I would like to learn to play the sitar or the bag pipes and was wondering if I should employ him as my tutor.

The devil is a masterful musician indeed, but he gets really pissed off at stupid mistakes and laziness. If you don't practice, be ready for him to notice it and stand up and walk the hell out of your house.
Lots of people want him as a tutor however, so call his office asap and set up an appointment. Otherwise he'll send one of his imps or demons in his place, and they aren't nearly as good.

Yes he did. Old Bobby and Satan Jammed all the time. Satan told me himself when he was teaching me how to play harmonica. I think that if You really want to get a good start on sitar or bagpipes You'd find no better teacher than the Dark Lord, he is always up for a little music. If You stick with it we'll It You play in our band!

It doesn't work that way
You see...
Robert Johnson met the Devil at the crossroads in Missisippi...
no one knows exactly where they are although alot of people have searched for them only a few have found them.
The purpose of this is to sell your soul for fame and wealth...not to be taught an instrument.you have to know how to play already.
Unfortunately there's always a catch...
Johnson for example never achieved the fame and wealth during his lifetime but now he is famous for being the father of the Blues.
If you do search for the crossroads and by chance you do find them I suggest you don't ask a stupid question like this because the Devil might think you are mocking him and take you on the spot.
The Blues is one of my favorite genres of music...I know it's not true(or is it?) but without the story of the crossroads the Blues and Rock n Roll wouldn't be the same.

EDIT:
wow..a thumbs down...I guess you people really don't know anything about blues history do you?
or the Devil either.

that's what the legend says.

Getting the devil to teach/give you anything might be a bit expensive. he usually wants your soul in exchange for whatever he gives you.
