Only 'I' know that 'I' exist. You only exist in the existence of my thought. 'I' only exist in the thought of existence. Only thought exists. Therefore, "i think therefore i am"(to use the thought of Descartes) (and from where his thought was attributed). this can be broken down to: 'I think', as existence only exists in thought. This can then be broken down to 'I' or 'think'. Or, are 'I' and 'think' inseperable?
"if a tree falls and noone is there to hear it fall, does it make a noise" please dont answer this directly as it was never intended as a question, but do consider it. please dont answer it directly!

Henk: surely then, only YOU know that 'I' exist in your thought. If you believe this does that mean 'I' am you? Naah.

Descartes, Euclid, Copernicus, Euler etc. They all were like 'flat landers'. They were of the opinion that man could see the Universe only from the Outside by meditation and if drugs had to be used so be it. Kepler, Gauss, Leibnitz proved that we could see the real world by observing it and not reducing it to pictures on a piece of paper.Only YOU know that you exist? If you are thought only are you sure that your brain is not floating around in a jar of formaldehyde?

well now everyone who reads this knows that you exist. the fact that responses appear to your question shows that i and other answerers also exist. i dont only exist in the existance of your thought, at least not until you read my answer because previous to that event you did not know that i existed whatsoever. for there to be such a thing as thought of existance you require someone to exist to think of existance. i think therefore i am, turn it around, i am therefore i think. i THINK we should all get some sleep therefore i AM going to bed!!! night

Every instance of identity changes your perception and therefore you are not the same person you were before you read this, identity is just your current state as it moves forwards in time.

Yes. Sollipsism. Existentialism. However, from my point of view, you're a figment of MY imagination. Interesting that I would imagine you stating this premise. Oh well, I try to keep myself amused.

I believe you have described sociopathic or possibly even psychopathic behaviour.
It might be an interesting mental exercise, but real thought is better than intelligence.
I really hope you don't believe this. For your sake.
'The sound of one hand clapping?' - please, I have better things to think about.
