Mediums???

Question

Okay, first this is a hard thing to ask. So here I go. A family member, whom is very close to me went through a spritual enlightenment a few months back. It was kind of scary because this person also claimed that spirits, mostly deceased family members where appearing to her and speaking with her. None of them have harmed her or any one else. "They" just talk amongst one another as if they were still apart of the living. Well, I guess the question is...should I believe in her? or should I seek professional help for her? I have been praying to the lord to see me through this, but I wanted someone elses point of view.

She says that she is speaking to her mother and father and her brother. Pretty much all deceased family members...she will carry on a conversation, ask questions, laugh at etc. as if she were talking to me for example. Other than that she is perfectly normal.

I wish I knew what you meant by a 'spiritual enlightenment', it would really help in my answer to you. It is unusual for someone who had NEVER seen or communicated with spirits to suddenly start talking with them. However, if someone very close to her just died, it could be that the spirits (or really echoes) of the people close to her have come back to ensure that she is able to move on before they do. Please don't be alarmed. I have to tell you, I am not what I would call a medium, but it is not unusual for spirits to come to me for help communicating with living relatives. I believe you know exactly what your family member is talking about, but didn't believe what you 'saw' or 'heard'. If you are of the same bloodline, that is how it travels. I can't give you any more understanding, as I don't understand it. It is just as natural to me as thinking or breathing. If there are, however, any signs of mental illness and no one else in the blood line has EVER had any connection with spirits, make sure she is not sufferering from a medical condition just to be on the safe side. Either way, continue to pray for your strength and be a support to her. She must trust you or would not openly talk to them in front of you. I don't have a need to converse aloud with them, but I do think your relative sees what she is telling you.

What's wrong with talking to a few otherworldly or imaginary friends, or just one? As long as it's not damaging or causing any real anguish there's no harm in it. On the other hand if she gets violent or insistent that you should also believe in and talk to her imaginary friends, then she's probably to some degree mentally unbalanced, delusional or perhaps brainwashed and may need to seek unbiased professional help.

Plenty of people 'see' and 'hear' spirits. I think that if nothing else is unusual about her behavior and if this is not getting in her way of leading a normal life, and she is happy with their presence, and not harassed, she probably doesn't need professional help.
But, if I were you, I would ask a professional.

She should ask about the sports pages from next weeks games and the lottery section also.This will be more valuable than a good joke or old story.

I dont know about the authenticity of her behaviour but sometimes I think death is there so people have nothing to do with earth anymore.

does that include talking and visitng...I guess

if I saw dead relatives in dreams that would be different tho...real life...would make me have serious doubts its them.

Ask her to verify what see is seeing and hearing? But ask with 'genuine' interest and awe!
