can anyone tell me who/what I saw?

Question

I was in a large store looking at cards. I felt someone staring at me so I turned and looked. These two women with horrible identical faces were staring at me and grinning. I was severely frightened and immediately thought they were "witches", even though I know witches (wiccans) and they are very nice people. I was so frightened I dropped my cards on the floor and left the store. Can anyone tell me what they were?

I am not a teenager. I am quite a lot older, but thanks for the compliment.

I was hoping someone could give me a half serious answer.

Thanks mbm244. That is how I felt..like they were evil. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced anything like them.

I don't think they were ghosts, and I don't think they were my imagination either. Their faces just looked evil. I don't know how to describe them except they were tall and dressed and looked alike. After I dropped my things and left, I got almost to the exit and decided I was probably overreacting so I went back to the aisle and they were gone. I spent a few more minutes in the store looking for them, because I had almost decided it was my imagination but I could not find anyone else fitting the description.

I can't tell you what you saw, since I wasn't there. If your gut tells you to get away from a situation, you should. You did the right thing. I think that sometimes we sense things on a level that is not cognitive. I was once waiting for a bus, and my gut told me I needed to get out of the area, even though there was nothing that was obviously wrong. I left, and it's a good thing I did. The next day I saw on the news that a woman was raped and murdered. She was last seen waiting at that stop. What I am trying to say is if you felt that those people were evil, they probably were.

I think mbm244 has given you a great answer but I just wanted to add my two-pennyworth in case it's any help.

My first thought when I read your question was that it would be fascinating to know whether any one else in the store saw these two and if they did what their reactions were. Although it would not be proof of whether or not this was a supernatural manifestation it might give some pointers. If there is any way (and I'm afraid I can't readily think of one) that you can check this out it would be good but I guess the reality is you'll probably never know.

Just a thought - it might be worth checking your local newspaper archives in case there is any history of hauntings in the store, or if there are any local legends that might throw some light on what you saw.

Also you could check old maps in your library to see what was there before the store was built and again check the newspaper archives for any events that may have led to a haunting, if that is what it is.

On the other hand this could have been nothing supernatural at all, just identical twins who for some reason look/behave oddly. Again going back to what mbm244 said I do feel you did the best thing in following your gut reaction and getting away from the situation. I have always believed in going with my first instinct and this has protected me on a number of occasions over the years. (Shame I had no instinct at all on a few occasions where certain men were concerned but that's another matter!)

I have had a few similar reactions to the one you describe to "real" people over the years and have subsequently wondered if I over-reacted. For example, I've asked myself did a person who "spooked" me a bit just maybe have an unfortunate face/manner that reminded me of something really bad which happened to me a long time ago and that I have blocked out of my memory.

I doubt very much they were witches, but I do wonder what connection they have to you in order to get your attention. Always follow your instincts, they will lead you in the right path. I am concerned as to whether you will see them again. I would be most interested to know whether or not you do. By the way, witches can be different than the wiccans you know. There are two paths, right and left, the path of light and the path of dark. I am not sure that either of these women were witches of either path, as I mentioned earlier. I would ask for more information about what made you think they were 'horrible' faces. Always trust your instincts, please Allie. If you have any enemies, you may try to make amends - could they be tormenting you? I am assuming you believe these to be humans, not ghosts, as you didn't mention ghosts/spirits and I do get a feeling you may have seen ghosts before.

Wow, I actually believe your story for some reason...no kidding and it sounds real creepy. I guess they were there for a reason..and you made a wise decision for leaving immediately. I can't tell you who they were or what they were but possibly real life evil witches? Are you positive you saw something or was it your imagination? I believe you but am just wondering.......well I had a similar experience when I was a child. When I used to sit in my classroom, I would always see this evil looking woman staring at me from her window into my classroom window. I still wonder if it was my imagination or not. Whatever the case, it always gave me the creeps and it still does thinking about it. Well be careful wherever you go......good luck and best wishes........
