KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Dozens of children have fainted, apparently because of mass hysteria, after school authorities in Nepal killed a snake, considered as sacred by many Hindus, witnesses said on Thursday. At least 67 students, aged between nine and 16 years, have had fainting fits since Tuesday in the mainly Hindu country, they said. "Children suddenly scream, cry and faint," Rishikesh Baral, assistant headmaster of the school, told Reuters by phone. "Some recover after a couple of hours while others are yet to fully recover. We apologize for killing the snake." Authorities organized priests to perform religious rites on Thursday to exorcise the "evil spirit" of the snake killed by school officials last week. Doctors told school officials it was a case of hysteria caused by fear of divine retribution for the snake's death.

Hindus regard snakes as sacred and Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, is shown wearing a serpent as a garland.

I was not pregnant. It was a big nice party with all my family and friends and they all brought me gifts. I was standing in my dream thinking to myself 'Why do they think I am pregnant' and I looked down at my belly and it wasn't round or anything. Then I remember thinking 'I am going to have to take all these gifts back and tell them I'm not pregnant'. What does this dream mean?

PS- I am definitely not pregnant and there is no way I could be at this time.

Lately me and my husband have been finding sewing needles stuck to the top right hand corner of a couple of door frames around our house. The funny thing is we don't even own those kind of needles. Then, yesterday his friend who we never told this too, comes out and says he is finding these pins also in his door frames and can't explain it. Is this some kind of voodoo stuff or what? Regardless, it kind of has us all in bunches about it. If anyone knows what this means or even has an idea to what it means, please let me know.

Most people are superstitious and have a series of beliefs reffering to objects, signs, acts, animals. Some have good, others bad connotations and we believe in them even though it is not logical to do so. I just want to find out more about superstitions and weird customs and traditions you may happen to know .

I found an antique at a thrift store. I brought it home and thought nothing of it. A few weeks later my husband and I (even my cats, I could see their nostrils flare ) started to smell the scent of smoke, sewage and herbs strongly in certain areas of our home at any given place and time. For over a month I would fly off my chair and run to the kitchen to check the burners on the stove. Or nose around our home searching for the scent. One day I came across the antique on my bookshelf(I had forgot about it). I joked out loud and decided to put it outside on my porch just in case. We haven't smelled anything since. Coincidence?
