In astrology, the sun (or birth sign) is just one influence on your personality type/life path. Your rising sign has a great deal of influence as well. Other signs have some influence. Thus, an astrologer would say that you have to compare complete birth charts to determine compatability. Comments based on just a birth sign are considered to be too general to be taken as an influence or accurate guide for an individual. Bob Marks, astrologer explains in his interpreting relationships astrology lesson, "So what will tell you if the relationship is go or no go? No one thing. There are several steps and you have to go through them all. No shortcuts."
Beyond that -- most astrology I see doesn't say Scorpios and Geminis *cannot* have a relationship -- merely that it will be more difficult than other combinations.

When Gemini and Scorpio come together in a love affair, they'll need to learn to understand and accept one another's differences -- and if they can, they will be a nearly unbreakable couple. Where Gemini is adaptable, intellectual, outgoing and chatty, Scorpio tends to be secretive, focused, intense and determined. Gemini tends to take things lightly, including their lover; Scorpio, on the other hand, has a very deep need for emotional connection and intimacy. Scorpio is generally very loyal to their lover and very connected to the relationship.
This relationship tends to be highly passionate and can often be characterized by arguments; Gemini loves a good debate, considering it the epitome of mental stimulation, and that characteristic Gemini flirtatiousness tends to grate on Scorpio's jealous, possessive nerves. Despite these differences, however, this is no dull relationship. Both Signs love to take chances and spice it up! They have lots of adventures together, but if things get too tense and arguments start to turn negative, they must make the effort to reconcile if they value the relationship and want it to last.
Gemini is ruled by the Planet Mercury (Communication) and Scorpio is dually ruled by the Planets Mars (Passion) and Pluto (Power). Scorpio is generally quite concerned with sexual and emotional intimacy; they need much reassurance that their lover values the relationship as much as they do. Thank goodness, then, for Gemini's excellent communicative abilities; the Twins should have no trouble communicating their dedication to the Scorpion -- if it's dedication they feel. Gemini can't and won't fake a commitment they don't feel, so intense Scorpio must learn to back off a bit. Gemini will certainly make a commitment to a love relationship, but only if they're free to do so on their own, not coerced into it.
I am assuming these are your sun signs. Have a a natal chart done for both of you. They are much more accurate.

confident and no Astrology says you maybe a brilliant combination,Scorpio is a grasp strategist, if there's a call to be made or a project to hand, they are able to assist flight Gemini's concentration on the appropriate thoughts on an identical time as gemini teaches the Scorpio to flow on despite if or they're finished or no longer. there's a turn away to those 2 notwithstanding scorpio can hose down Gemini's power, on an identical time as Gemini could make Scorpio's seas tough and disturbed. So confident you're combatible in some techniques different no longer. each realatioship isn't user-friendly long words are often times relatively no longer user-friendly, yet love will cleared the path.

I am Pagan, I believe that astrology can give us some valuable insights into our lives and into ourselves, however, you SHOULD NOT be afraid to enter into a relationship because astrology says its a no no. The worse that could happen is that it doesn't work out... but what if it does.
When I was in middle school I dated a guy who was a Scorpio (I'm a Gemini) and we dated on and off a total of 4 times. However, he is a great guy and we are still pretty close and I think of him like a brother. Even though we aren't still romantically involved we still have a great relationship. Don't be afraid to follow your heart. What your heart and soul tells you is much more valuable than what the stars tell you.
Scorpios and Geminis can have a relationship.
It's written somewhere now!
Blessings and Light

The reason you keep coming up with negatives is that Scorpio and Gemini aren't directly opposite eachother in the Zodiac. Apparently you're most likely to get on with people directly on the opposite side of the Zodiac, and the signs just ahead and behind yours. Or so I've been told.
But my sister is the star sign after mine and we do NOT get on so I really don't think it matters.
Are you trying to find a reason why the person you're interested in isn't interested back or is it a current relationship which is going wrong? In any case, I suggest it has nothing to do with when you were born.

Well I am or at least was (the dates have moved over the years )on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer and have been married in a not so awful relationship for aahem! (very long time)
I remember a few years ago my new sales director was a woman and at the first meeting she being a women as they do said what star sign are you, Cancer I said proudly.
OH! not Cancer and she looked me up and down and frowned
A week went by and I had another meeting with her and she asked me into her office and said after the usual trivialities what star sign did you say you were, Gemini I said almost as proudly as the first time I had answered the question.
OH! she said again and looked me up and down with a frown I will have to keep my eye on you.
No hope really for people with stars signs is their.

Here are a few positive words about Scorpios and Geminis.
Zodiac signs don't mean anything. It's superstition. It doesn't matter what any stupid zodiac books say about Scorpios and Geminis.

I'm a gemini and I've been engaged twice, both of those people were scorpios. The relationships, overall, were fine, and both of them ended amicably. However, I am now married to a taurus, so maybe neither of those relationships worked out for a reason, and I left both of the scorpios for the same reason: they were both highly emotional peopole who injected drama into EVERYTHING.

What?
It's about individuals, not some mumbo-jumbo about the stars... I'm a scorpio, for what it's worth, my ex was a gemini, we were close for about 10 years, enjoyed every minute of it. Only split up because she moved to South Africa - still in contact with her, still good friends. (we're both married with kids and happy now - see her and her family once or twice a year, always good. Even get on with her husband).
So, just goes to show life's what YOU make it, not Mystic Meg and her crowd.
