I am offered a course to take a Foreign Language class next year. (Eighth grade). My choices are Spanish 1, French 1, and Japanese 1. This is for a full year.

I have a Colombian friend who can speak Spanish, so she could teach me anytime... Also, my friends say that Spanish will help me the most.
My friends said that French was really really hard. One friend also said that French will help me the most...second to Spanish.
Japanese? Haven't heard much. But I do enjoy Japanese anime and manga...

SO WHICH SHOULD I TAKE?

I looked this up on Alta vista babble fish and got the Greek, but I'm not sure it is correct babble fish sometimes isn’t (Επανόρθωση). Also I looked at Hebrew (kipper) But this is in the term "day of atonement" I am looking to make sure that the word "atonement" = atonement through Christ. SPELLING MUST BE CORRECT! GOOD LUCK the more you seek to answer all the details of my question the better rating I will give you!

I am trying to write an essay on "Las dos Fridas" by Kahlo. But I am not entirely sure if it is correct to phrase it like that.

I'm referring to the Latin word "Comitatus," for a group of men working together--it's often used to describe the Viking code of "chivalry" in BEOWULF. My question is, if the Comitatus is the whole group, what do you call one member of it... a Comitatum? What about two members or more--are they Comitati? And how do you make it possessive... things belonging to the Comitatus would be the Comitatus' things?

Any help (or just directions to an easy to understand site about Latin suffices) would be appreciated, thanks!

The Americans come from Britain right? I mean, every original American was originally british. How did our accents dramatically change over time? Did we inherit some new way of speaking or what?

There's a title for a new CD of Juanes' coming out, and it's called, "La vida es un ratico"

I ALREADY know that it means "Life is a ________"

Can anyone fill in the blank? I've looked in my dictionaries, and I can't find it. I'm guessing that it's slang (from Colombia probably, because Juanes is from Medellín).

¡Chasgracias! (Thanks a bunch!)

O quizás no me consideras tu amiga?
