Well, considering that every city and town has their own dialect and hence their own accent, it's going to be extremely difficult. I'm American and live in Modena have been told by Italians that aren't from Modena that I speak somewhat like a person from Modena or at least the Emilia Region. I have friends that live in Rome, and although you can tell they are foreign they speak somewhat like the Romans do. Your best bet is to spend a long time in 1 Italian city to pick up the accent.

mary is right; (a)in modena the accent is very romantic and its dialect too! modena is a very nice city and people are very eloquent and you might do the right move, moving to modena! via emilia is a large avenue, wherein all the city charm!
besides, a few miles away, you may visit maranello, the very place of the ferrari factory! then you may visit places up on the mountain, like pavullo, and up to the top!
well, try on!
ciao...john-john.-

Try some uncooked spaghetti between your teeth.
Hope, no, I'm sure that helps. Buona fortuna!
