There's a title for a new CD of Juanes' coming out, and it's called, "La vida es un ratico"

I ALREADY know that it means "Life is a ________"

Can anyone fill in the blank? I've looked in my dictionaries, and I can't find it. I'm guessing that it's slang (from Colombia probably, because Juanes is from Medellín).

¡Chasgracias! (Thanks a bunch!)

SO, does it mean "Life is short", or "Life is a little while", or something close to that?

yes, it is a colombian slang...

colombian combine their own slang with spanish words..

hes reffering to RATITO (a little bit) but colombians drop the TITO and add TIKO..like chikitito, they say chikitiko

This sounds interesting! Me encanta espanol y aprendo al colegio. I think it is a slang or informal sort of word from Latin America. A Spanish music website commented:
"It's a song based on a phrase his mother used to say: "Don't worry, baby, life is short (la vida es un ratico.)"

Hope that helps,

Yes, it means

Life is a little while/a little moment or a short time.

rato = short time (and then diminutive = ratico)

Best I can do is what you already know. It's a Colombian slang term.

ratico stands for a little moment. Un rato means a moment in colloquial speak, un ratico means a little moment.
