She has insisted that I do not buy her a gift, but I wanted to make her something- whether it be a pillow, brownies or picture frame or something just so she knows that I'm thinking about her. Any suggestions?

Sura 5:51

"Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. God does not guide the wrongdoers." (Dawood)

" O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk." (Pickthall)

This was from an email sent to me in regards to my answering a question that Muslims could be friends with Christians and Jews and Muslim men could even marry them. I don't know enough about the verses in the quran to answer him back and it got me wondering about this as it's a contradiction. Thanks for any help.

Don't leave any stupid answers like "He's not real???" It really ticks me off.

How I found out:
I was 9 or 10 and I was walking around my house and I saw my mom carry a bo with an electrical piano inside it accross her room. Then on Christmas day when I recieved it, it was claimed to be "from Santa" so after about a couple weeks I finally came to my senses.
So anyways, how did you find out Santa wasn't real?

Why or why not? I am talking about setting up a tree putting out stockings, exchanging gifts, having Christmas dinner but not celebrating Jesus birth. Taking parts of the traditions of the religion.

My daughter got one of those "magical" elves last year. It gets into everything! Well, the only problem is, if you keep the darn thing coming back from year to year, you start to run out of ideas. I swear I've done everything in the book! Snow angels, rolling the house in toilet paper, making cookies, making ginger bread houses, playing hide and seek....
Does anyone have any ideas they could share with me of what we can do next?

What are you planning on doing for a new years resolution for 2008? I am going to plan on not being the friend who makes the obnoxious idiot that i know mad at me this year! I also would like to tell myself i will get up and jog and do crunches to work on my new years abs but that might be hoping for too much! What are you planning on, anything creative or tear jerking?
